I contacted Spigen's customer service, but so far haven't received a response. I will update this review if I receive a response. Please see the photo I took of the fraying, falling apart cable. Note that another user had the exact same experience with the sheath tearing, and you can also view his photo, so please save your money and get a better cable. I hope this helps someone avoid a bad product.
Update: Spigen finally responded, but they offered nothing to remedy the situation.
Review edit - It would appear Spigen pays more attention to their Amazon page than their own website. Within a couple days of posting the initial 1-star review here, I was contacted by Spigen and as a result now finally have this cable. Over a month of no contact, post a 1 star review here, and get contacted quickly. Now that I have the correct cable, I'm changing this review to 4 stars - it works fine, the longer length is half the reason I ordered it, and is much sturdier than Apple's cables. That sturdiness does detract some from flexibility, but maybe that'll loosen up over time. Would buy again.
Worked great for a couple of months and then slowly started to fail.
This had nothing to do with the notorious faulty charging port on the phone mind you, as all of my other chargers, and girlfriends chargers worked 100% of time.
My original charger from apple is even cracked in the rubber at the base with a couple of wires frayed out and it still works 100% of the time.
This Spigen charger cable looks like it's in mint condition, and I even tried cleaning it after it stopped working to no avail.
Don't buy this cable unless you're ok with throwing money away every few months for a new one.
The cord itself is durable; however, the issue I have is that the lightning end of the cord, doesn't seem to be secured with glue or anything else. Sometimes I can see the cord slipping out of the rubber part attached to the lightning plug housing.
So far it isn't a big deal, as I can just push it back in. I am worried though about the wires being exposed or damaged if it slips out completely.
Otherwise, I haven't had any problems with connecting or charging.
