The plot moved at a deliberate pace and concluded with a surprise. There was a fresh humor that on more than one occasion, had me laughing. The blending of genres will allow for this to be enjoyed by a nice spread of readers, there was even a dash of romance thrown in.
I see the next part will be releasing very soon, and look forward to it.
The Swindell brothers have a thriving business enterprise in the city of London. Barnabas, the elder brother seems to have the Midas touch with making money. Trevor, the younger sibling, is still searching for his path in life. Obsessed with extraterrestrial sightings, he talks his older brother into funding a venture from the photo he sees in the paper. He believes they could make a killing by buying up property near this small Texas community and then promote the heck out of the UFO sightings, making a tourist trap of the entire area.
Trevor finds more than he bargains for when he arrives in Marysfield as he meets the colorful citizens and begins his project. This was an extremely creative story with many well-drawn characters, both good and evil. I loved Cuff and Link, Trevor’s two sidekicks and wish we saw even more of them. The only slight criticism I have was with the meeting between Trevor and ‘Old Sits.’ Sits gives drug-laced tea to Trevor who experiences hallucinations. I found it hard to imagine ‘Old Sits’ using such a drug when he spends his time in cautious surveillance of whom he perceives is the enemy. That along with why he would share such a drug with a stranger felt somehow wrong in my opinion. Otherwise, I felt this was a very engaging page-turner and highly recommended.
The main character Trevor started out with a "typical small town guy" feeling as it takes place in Nowheresville, Texas, and I admit I was surprised at his character development and the writer did manage to surprise me with the direction Trever took. I struggle in reviews to not spoil the plot, so I'll summarize that it was a fun read, not mindblowing stunning if I'm honest, but enjoyable nonetheless. Alldredge does a good job taking a not-that-original concept and adding his own twist to it in order to prove his originality as an author. If you like sci-fi with a kick of fun, give this one a try!
The book was enjoyable, and did have a twist at the end that I did not expect. There were several punctuation errors, but nothing that took away from the enjoyment of the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who is into UFOs and the unexplained.
A fun trek into the concept of alien invasion and supernatural beings with one doozy of an ending. If you enjoy these types of stories you'll enjoy Lights in the Night.

The author presents his characters and there a re a few. Each of them has a personality and a way they live and I must say I particularly like the epilogue with Dale's ending.
A small town in Texas is besieged by aliens, Russians and trigger happy rednecks, oh my.
