Their lives have both been turned upside down from terrible events that happened in the past and little do they know they've been tied together for a lot longer than either one of them realize.
This book has tons of twists and it definitely brings the raw and gritty angst that should always be in an enemies to lovers story. I also adored the ending and HEA these two received because if anyone needed one it was definitely these two.
So if you are looking for a bully/enemies to lovers amazing read make sure to read this!!!
This is not how this school year was supposed to go, he went from being a starting quarterback to being a back-up quarterback for the enemy. There isn't anything that could possibly make this situation better... then he meets his new next door neighbor Blakely. She is gorgeous, feisty, and pushes his buttons, but she draws him in like no other girl ever has. She says doesn't do relationships... but Jasper is determined to convince her otherwise!
Like Gravity is an heart-wrenching tale that will keep your eyes glued to the pages, and your heart in your throat. Every page comes riddled with emotion, drama, tragedy, and angst. These two haven't had it easy, life has dealt them both a devastating blow, and they are just barely getting by. Their demons are just under the surface, barely contained, and always on their minds. When they meet they think they are polar opposites, but little by little they soon learn that they are more alike than they ever thought, it's their painful pasts that bond them, as well as their sizzling chemistry. My heart broke for these two, the lives they lead were not typical of a normal teen, they were dealing with adult like matters at a tender age, and sometimes they handled them poorly. But it also taught them a lot about themselves, and matured them in a way that was admirable. I loved what I found between the pages here, it gave my heartstrings a nice little tug, and kept me completely captivated. Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
It many ways this was typical high school romance with some bully trope. But not just between Jasper and Blakey but with everyone. Every character is very unlikeable and unrelatable. I think that is what bothered me the most is the fact that I couldn't connect with any of them, especially our leading protagonist. I would describe them as extremely annoying.
Now, I can't say if that was the author's intention, if so she succeeded.
I liked Knox, the best and he will be having his own book next, sadly I'm not intrigued enough to read it. The writing is good. I have never read this author before. The pace of the story was great. It is a book you can read in one sitting. The perfect read for all those readers who enjoy high school books with steamy parts left in it.
Thank New Adult Book Club for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion.
