Two childhood friends are playing house―and maybe playing for keeps―in USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke’s funny, sexy, and unpredictable marriage-of-convenience romance.
To save her Tennessee bed-and-breakfast, Sophie Bates needs a fast-cash miracle. Holden McKenzie, her childhood best friend, needs to prove to a prospective employer that he’s a committed man. Their fortunes on the line, Holden proposes…a solution.
He’ll take care of Sophie’s bills if she agrees to a temporary marriage of convenience. And why not? They’re comfortable together, they have fun, and they trust each other. It’s as simple as saying “I do.” But the off-the-cuff wedding has all of Honey Creek talking―and Sophie and Holden realizing that their perfect arrangement is working too well. If they’re not careful, this marriage could turn into a love story.

Adriana Locke is a USA Today bestselling author who lives and breathes books. After years of slightly obsessive relationships with the flawed bad boys created by other authors, Adriana created her own with such series as Dogwood Lane, The Gibson Boys, and The Landry Family.
She resides in the Midwest with her husband, sons, two dogs, two cats, and a bird. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee, and cooking. You can find her outside if the weather’s nice, and there’s always a piece of candy in her pocket.
Besides cinnamon gummy bears, boxing, and random quotes, her next favorite thing is chatting with readers. She’d love to hear from you! Visit the author at www.adrianalocke.com.

USA Today Bestselling author, Adriana Locke, writes contemporary romances about the two things she knows best—big families and small towns. Her stories are about ordinary people finding extraordinary love with the perfect combination of heart, heat, and humor.
She loves connecting with readers, fall weather, football, reading alpha heroes, everything pumpkin, and pretending to garden.
Hailing from a tiny town in the Midwest, Adriana spends her free time with her high school sweetheart (who she married over twenty years ago) and their four sons (who truly are her best work). Her kitchen may be a perpetual disaster, and if all else fails, there is always pizza.

This book is a must read! Can't wait for book 2!
The story follows Sophie and Holden, two people who flirted with making the shift from friends to lovers during their youth, but never seized the opportunity. When Holden returns to town following the end of his engagement and the loss of his job, he’s feeling adrift. And Sophie has her own issues – her bed and breakfast is undergoing renovations, and the debt her ex left her with is coming due. A marriage of convenience seems like the solution to both of their problems, but neither one expects it to come with its own complications. Sophie and Holden’s marriage might be temporary, but the feelings they’re developing are starting to feel very permanent.
This is definitely a different vibe from the author, and I enjoyed the laidback feel. I’ve read several of her small town romances in the past, and this is probably the sweetest, easiest one. It’s low angst and high feels, bringing the sweetness and the quiet, slow burn. There’s actually very little in terms of heat, though there’s one SEXY scene and obvious chemistry throughout. I loved how these two transitioned from friends to lovers, and I loved that there was no major angst. It felt natural and authentic, which is a definite plus. We’re also introduced to Sophie’s siblings, and I’m intrigued by their stories. The small town feel was really working for me, so we’ll see where this series goes next. I received an early copy via NetGalley (then purchased it for my collection), and am voluntarily leaving a review of this marriage of convenience romance.
This book was just the type of book I needed in my life right now. It does have a different vibe from the Adrianna books we all know and love but that does not mean its a bad thing. Its very light, heartful, and loving. Its a book that just makes you feel good while reading it and not only does it focus on these two, it also has so much family love and support. I love the relationship Sophie has with her sister. Olivia was one of my favorite character's in this book. I could not put it down and read it all in one sitting. I cannot wait to see what the rest of this series holds!

Childhood friends Holden and Sophie haven't seen each for several years until Holden returns to Honey Creek to help his Pap, the town vet out, it's just a passing visit for Holden though as he is waiting on a call that he hopes will map out his future.
After her Grandma passes Sophie took over the running of Honey Creek B&B, Honey Creek is home for Sophie it's where her Sister and Brother live, it's the only place she has ever wanted to live but the B&B is struggling she needs an injection of cash quickly if she is going to save it.
Holden needs to impress his potential new employers, they are all about family which of course leads him to say he's married! So who does he turn to but his childhood bff, I mean they only need to convince his potential new boss and then they can go their separate ways. Sounds like a good plan, right?
Another amazing story from one of my favourite authors! It was perfection!

Sophie and Holden have known each other since they were kids, they were married under a tree when they were 10 with push pop rings but life changes as you get older and they drifted apart.
When Holden comes back to Honey Creek to help out his Grandfather they reconnect but when he suggests something to help them both out Sophie thinks he is crazy.
What will happen when Holden gets what he has always dreamed of but realised it might not actually be what he wants?

On the first day, his childhood best friend, Sophie, pops in to see him. It’s been ten years since he was last in town and they’ve both done their fair share of growing up. She’s now running the B&B she inherited from her grandmother, so he rents a room from her whilst they catch up.
It turns out that they are both faced with stumbling blocks in their careers, and Holden proposes (quite literally) a solution. Holden needs a wife to impress the CEO of the company he wants to work for, and Sophie needs money to pay off the tax debt on the B&B. He will pay her tax bill if she becomes his real pretend wife until the interviews and vetting process are over. But of course things aren’t ever that easy.
This book was so damn cute! Holden is sweet, chivalrous, and charming. Sophie is feisty, caring, and funny. Their chemistry is palpable and I genuinely got choked up at the breakup part!
A light and lovely read.

Holden was gorgeous and charming but he wasn’t arrogant, the slight uncertainty he showed gave him great depth. Sophie was strong and independent but not rude or annoying you made it impossible for us not to fall in love with her and really want her to succeed just as if she was our own best friend or sister.
Pap and Dottie, Liv and Jobe where all great characters who added their own bit to the story. I wait (im)patiently for more Honey Creek books x

Sophie and Holden have been friends for years though they haven’t seen one another for some time and their lives have taken very different paths but suddenly they both need help and who better than their childhood friend to help them out of a bind!!!
I adored this pair together. Yeah, you knew there was an end game for Holden and that would see him move on again but I couldn’t help but hope that things would work out for the couple.
Sophie was awesome. She knew how she felt about her friend but she also knew what she had to do to make him happy.... even if it broke her heart (and mine!!)
Adriana Locke is a firm favourite of mine and I loved this trip to Honey Creek that she gave us!!!!!
