Eroticism grows out of the love story; the sex scenes are lustful and romantic at the same time.
The characters in supporting roles are integral to the story; ranging from horrific, to people with whom the reader wants to share a glass of wine. Each one is so very well drawn and yet engages the reader to expand them with their own imagination. Also, some excellent red herrings!
I guess the best one can say about a book is "I would read it again", and "I want to know more!" This is one of them.
Judith St. Gaudens, where's the next book?
This is one of those books so full of perfect descriptions you will smell the lilacs, you will will feel the warmth of the air as you travel with Jessie through the countryside, and you will feel the love between two women.
Oh, yes then there is the fantastic twist of time, present and past, which will keep you turning the pages, maybe even too fast, to discover the mystery of this story.
Well done Ms. St.Gaudens, and I hope to hear more from this author.
The descriptions of Northern Arizona's beautiful wild landscape and the architectural descriptions of a small town transport the reader to share the adventure with the characters
The description and dialog with the sociopathic Nickie Sue is frighteningly real and provides an insight into the mind of those that inhabit the edge of reality.
The character of Connie was well developed, however I would have liked to see a more developed Jessica.
