Cassie Whitting is starting over after being laid off. She now works at a landscaping business for Sam Barlow. Sam on the other hand would like to have a more personal relationship. She's still close to her ex, Charlie, who wants to rekindle their romance. She pairs up with Charlie after finding Michael Peavey murdered in the old Greenhouse to find answers. Add in a dispute on an inheritance from an older relative and her old high powered job is looking like a easier and safer life.
With a believable cast and a fun story line, "Lilacs, Litigation and Lethal Love Affairs" was a joy to read. There is a touch of humor and characters that act believable. There are plenty of clues and one or two red herrings, but if you are alert you can follow the tale easily. There are a few sensuous scenes that are pushing the limits of a cozy, but not over the top or offensive.
If you are looking for a new series or a new author check out J. L. Wilson and Lilacs, Litigation and Lethal Love Affairs. You won't be disappointed. My rating of Lilacs, Litigation and Lethal Love Affairs is 4.5 out of 5 stars.
The author J L Wilson has a great book with potpourri of characters who are both interesting an dramatic. There are clues along the way to help guess the identity, but the path to finding the killer is more interesting. There are enough twists and drama to keep a reader entertained till the very end... And of course the romance was an added bonus to this cozy mystery
