George Tilden, the Baron Grigsby, is Hackwell's uncle. He promised his sister that he would look after her son when she died. Hackwell is a gambler and a drunk and his proclivities have emptied his coffers until only a marriage to an heiress will suffice. Grigsby is hoping the impending match will settle Hackwell down. Then tragedy strikes. Old secrets seem to be coming to the surface.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Liliana was a brave soul, protecting her charge even though it might be devastating to her financially. Grigsby refused to give up and was undaunted by previous refusals. Try it. I think you'll like it.
I won a copy of this book but it was my choice to write an unbiased review.
The "Some violence" is actually off-scene, and I wish there was one more rating for sexual content such as "light sexual content" because in this book there was only a sweet and sensual kiss between the hero and heroine and lots of yearning! A very nice read.
The characters were all well-written and the dialogue was fun and romantic. 5 stars for sure. I will definitely be reading more by this talented lady.
Since I was in a mood for a Jane Austen type book, this was perfect for me to curl up to and I read it all in one night. I stayed up until 3 am to finish. I just had to know more about Lilana's letter. But I won't give that away. Overall, I really enjoyed this book!
