Editorial Reviews

Review

The writing was fast paced, and HOT for an historical romance...with lots of chemistry between Daniel and Lily and lots of fun on Lily's part! There was the requisite drama, well played out. The characters were full of fun, laughter, mischief, and of course, some hot sexy!
~Bound by Books

Fantastic read. If you enjoy historical romances please be sure to pick this up.
~Delightfully Dirty Reads

This book was fantastic.  It was steamy, funny, romantic, and just about any other emotion you can think of...

Well, I have to say this book was a really nice surprise and elegantly written. I've never heard of or read anything by this author, and I bought the book on a whim. But I'm very glad I did.
I'm not going to go over the plot, as other reviews have done so.

I just want to say that this book was incredibly romantic, very sexy, and very enjoyable to read. Most notable is the fact that the author has created two extremely appealing lead characters. The hero is to die for-- what can I say-- he is probalby the hottest hero I've read in ages. Gorgeous, sexy, strong, intelligent, sensitive, a bit naughty, but really, really good to the heroine (in many ways, wink). I think it would be impossible for any woman NOT to fall madly in love with him (I know I did!).

More surprising is the heroine. So well drawn, so multi-faceted. Interesting, intelligent, funny, empathetic, good-hearted but still naughty, sexy, daring and beautiful (If I were a guy, I'd fall in love with her!). As a reader, you really want these two to be together and be happy, and you feel that they are worthy of each other. You feel them falling in love, and it's wonderful.
It makes a nice change from so many books I've read lately where the heroines are absolutely awful: either too stupid for words, or selfish, or silly, shallow, vapid, promiscuous, etc. Where I think "there is no way on earth the H would ever have fallen in love with that awful girl."

So Helen Hardt, kudos on your book. (there's only one small thing that slightly bothered me- there were a couple of medical things in the book that sounded very implausible-- perhaps author should have researched that a bit).

Lily Jameson is a strikingly beautiful girl who could care less about boys, all she wants to do is paint! So at a house party instead of flirting and flaunting she's caught by the Duke's second son Daniel painting away. They chat for a few, then he's off.

Years pass and Lily hasn't changed! She's still into her art and to he11 with the boys! There's too much to do in life to waste it by getting married and having children. The Duke has passed, so has the eldest son, so now Daniel Farnsworth is the new Duke and his mother is throwing a welcome home bash. Lily and family is invited much to Lily's dismay...On the bright side, the Duke supposedly has a piece of art that Lily would LOVE to see, so her plan is to sneak around trying to find it during the party.

Daniel grabs ahold of Lily, thinking she's someone else and kisses the everloving s*** out of her. She's swept off her feet...literally..

Lily asks to see the portrait, Daniels agrees to show her, but it's in his bedroom! YIKES, she goes and one thing leads to another, and since she's sure she'll never marry she decides to just enjoy Daniel this once. He's hooked, and thus ensues the DRAMA...because everyone wants to catch the Dukes attention, he is the most eligible bachelor all around!

The writing was fast paced, and HOT for an historical romance...yummmmo with lots of chemistry between Daniel and Lily, and lots of fun on Lily's part!

There was the requisite drama, well played out. The characters were full of fun, laughter, mischief and of course some hot sexy! I really rather enjoyed this story, it's so nice to change things up a bit and go back to the roots where my love affair with reading began!

So throughout this whole story I couldn’t help but keep saying “awwwwww” in my head along with “Oh my” and “Gawd that is hot” and lastly “That little harlot!!” haha. Lily and the Duke is a very easy flowing, lovely, and absolutely delectably erotic regency romance story. There is some mellow angst and one conniving elite gold digging b*t*h in this book but overall it’s a very heartfelt story between Lily and Daniel and the intense love and passion they come to feel for each other.

Lily (whom I freaking love) is a very headstrong, quick-witted minx. Totally against conformity and the idea of being forced into an arranged marriage she cares little for her virtue and would much rather spend her days lavishing in her artistic abilities and seeing the world for all its beauty.

Daniel fyi the Duke known for his escapades with the ladies and all kinds debauchery is hosting a party at his home in which Lily and her family are invited. New to Duke-dom Daniel is far from prepared to manage his estate and even less inclined to partake in the picking of a bride. But when Lily and Daniel’s paths cross accidentally the fire and spark between these two is volcanic. Both arousing and stirring new feelings in each other Lily and Daniel can’t get enough of one another. Daniel loves Lily’s confidence, innocence, intellect, beauty and strength while Lily is enamored with Daniel’s understanding of the arts and the manner in which he treats her; fair, equal, and above all else. Of course his aptitude in the bedroom doesn’t hurt either hehe. We can just call it a wonderful perk. These two are like magnets pushing and pulling and taking the other to new heights.
