I love to use cotton because it is so adaptable. It is warm but not too hot, and breathes - and I cannot find anything more comfortable or healthy for things touching skin (e.g. blankets & clothing). It also stays in place, doesn't slip or fall out. The stitch you make is the stitch you get, and it is pliable. Sugar'n Cream brand is (so far) just about the only brand I can find, and it is reasonably priced (although I think it could be better, especially in a cotton-growing state like NC). It is strange to me that the selection of cotton yarn is so small. In the retail stores, I can only find this brand of yarn, and only in select colors (no white or black).
I received two Sugar'n Cream, white, 100 percent cotton, 400 g (approximately, +/-), approx. 700 yd (+/-), worsted weight, 4-ply skeins of yarn. They are a little less than six times larger than the size of the small skeins usually found in local retail craft stores (which are 70 g, 120 yd). Sometimes I can find similar large skeins in the store, but they are limited in color (again, no white in any size), and this cost me about two thirds of local retail pricing. I love this stuff.
