When she's not writing, Vanessa savors the insanity of raising two boys, is figuring out how many meals she can make with a pressure cooker, and teaches a pretty mean karate class. She considers herself to be remarkably normal, exceedingly introverted and fairly vanilla, which does not explain her steamy stories and her fascination with cowboys, preferably more than one at a time.
She lives in the Wild Wild West where there's an endless source of 'research' material.

This is the most exciting book in the series so far. It is the story of Lily and Jack. They see each other and it's love at first sight for both of them. They have one day of courting and the next day they are married. Jack tells Lily that he is a Pinkerton Detective and not everything is as it appears to be.
Two days later Lily is reading about Jack as being Eli Pike a notorious train robber who has killed a man. She has to do some serious soul searching because he has just married a man who is wanted in her area. She works for a local doctor and has seen some very bad injuries and has a full appreciation for life. She doesn't know what to do.
Jack is a Pinkerton man, going undercover to trap a bank robber. His eyes meet those of a young woman who freezes directly in the path of a stage coach. He leaps to her rescue and they are married the next day. Lily was training to be a doctor until her mentor yielded to pressure and hired a man to replace her. She is a vegetarian but also works as a butcher. He tells her he'll be gone for a week or two and not to believe what she hears about him. Then she sees a newspaper!

This is just a redux of the first four books with a robbery thrown in.
I was bored.
