This is an interesting and especially nostalgic story if you're a 60 something Brit. The writing is simple and sometimes irritates. There are one of two typos.

Well written and entertaining, with plenty of vintage photographs for anyone interested in history. From her childhood in rural England, to tending the wounded and surviving bombings as a nurse during WWII and then relocating to the U.S. to pursue modeling and multiple altruistic endeavors, the story relates the details of a life full of adventure and purpose. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm really not one for memoirs, and I am especially not inspired by the lives of celebrities and other so-called famous individuals, but it was refreshing to read about an ordinary person, who is actually quite extraordinary. I recommended it highly.
