"In a useful study directed toward students and educators alike, Boaler...argues against approaching learning in terms of 'fixed intelligence' and 'giftedness, ' and in favor of approaching it through the new science of neuroplasticity. She notes that skills long thought genetically fixed, such as the rare phenomenon of perfect pitch, can be learned and nurtured and maintains that it's more productive to categorize children as 'hard-working' rather than 'smart'...Her guide offers fresh pedagogical approaches to educators and meaningful encouragement and ideas to students."-- "Publishers Weekly" --This text refers to the mp3_cd edition.

“Limitless Mind” presents a readable, informative and entertaining synthesis of recent research in the fields of Neuroscience (plasticity) Psychology (Growth Mindset) and Education. The book argues for a new path to appreciating the beauty of math. And to teaching math based on visualization, collaboration and rethinking social and gender stereotypes.
Capturing Silicon Valley philosophy, Professor Boaler argues that mistakes create pivot and growth opportunities. A Growth Mindset viewpoint!
Highly recommended back to school reading! The disruption has begun!
Teachers - if you loved Mathematical Mindsets, this is the book to share with colleagues (across all learning areas) and parents.
Boaler's ideas could transform the way we teach and the way children learn for the better. We should listen to her.
