I was instantly intrigued by the title, cover art, and blurb for this book, so I downloaded a copy, not even bothering to read the sample first, and I was rewarded with a fun, fast-paced story that was an absolute blast to read! Honestly, I haven’t enjoyed a debut novel in a mystery series this much since One For the Money by Janet Evanovich. Franki Amato, the heroine of Limoncello Yellow, is every bit as sassy, entertaining, and calamity-prone as Stephanie Plum.

When the book opens, Franki’s a cop, working a beat, with her comically flatulent partner, in Austin, Texas. After having a humiliating experience on the job, which involves finding out her boyfriend’s a cheat, Franki decides that she’s sick of being on the police force, sick of living in Austin, and sick of her interfering Italian family who will not get off her back about her perpetual singlehood. So, she picks up stakes and moves to New Orleans to work at a detective agency run by a friend that’s called “Private Chicks, Inc.”

I've always been fascinated by New Orleans and the culture there, so I really loved the local color provided by the author in this book. As I was reading it, I felt like I was transported to the French Quarter where I could hear the jazz music playing and smell the spicy Creole food. New Orleans provides the perfect sultry and mysterious backdrop for the investigation that Franki and her boss, Veronica, embark upon as they try to clear their client of murdering his girlfriend in the fancy boutique where she was employed.

This was a fun mystery book. I hope this series continues because the characters are fun. The main character Franki is starting a new career as a private investigator as well as reevaluating her personal life. It's set in New Orleans and the city is another character in the book. The other characters of Veronica and Glenda are interesting as well. I hope to see more of Brad in the next book. If you are looking for a fun mystery book with relatable characters this is the book for you.

I loved this mystery and it's zany characters. New Orleans is the perfect setting for the PI firm that ex-cop Franki joins. This fast-paced story is filled with action, adventure, and plenty of humor. (Her landlady is a hoot.) I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

It was a nice story but it seemed to try to hard to include the usual cast of weird and wonderful characters that these style of books has. I found my self skipping over some scenes and really getting annoyed with Franki's constant carry on about her weight only to find out she was a (GASP) SIZE 12. Like that's something to carry on about. Saying all of this I must add, this is the first time Traci has turned her hand to fiction writing, I can see her getting better with each story she writes as the bones are well and truly there.

Franki and Ronnie are an interesting new team. The story is set in New Orleans with the main character being transplanted Texan Franki Amato who has come to work for her best friend Veronica PI agency. She has a number of demons she is running from not the least of which is a meddling Italian grandmother.

The characters are interesting especially the landlady a retired stripper. The book is well plotted and fun to read. Now for some it may move a little slow. Ms. Andrighetti may have erred a little toward building Franki's character to thoroughly in the first book. I had no problem with it but some might if you like your books to move at break neck speed.

Being a Texan and an Italian, I may have gotten the humor more than most. I had a few aunts who could have given Franki's grandmother a run for her money. If you like books along the lines of Janet Evanovich, Stephanie Bond and Christi Craig you should be happy. Something a little different but yet familiar.

Setting the book in New Orleans was great fun. There is a lot of room for this series to grow and I will be watching for the next book.

What a fun ride, not only through one of my most favorite cities, but along with Franki and her crazy Italian (Sicilian) family. LOL moments with her grandmother and her arranged dates and along with a great mystery.

This is a laugh out loud book. I am a New Orleans native,so naturally I like books that are indigenous to New Orleans, one thing though, I have seen and heard Nola used in advertising, but never to refer to a native. Franki the protagonist is a riot, her partner is the usual heroine, tiny, sexy, etc. I enjoyed the exploits of Franki, the more natural woman, overweight, always hungry female. I also have a neighbor who is so much like Glenda the exstripper, age doesn't matter they still dress in tiny clothes and think they are still sexy LOL. What a wacky way to solve a murder. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who like funny mysteries. Almost forgot to mention Franki's nonna ,, another typical Italian grandmother, you'll love her.
