Love this book. Think it is its own sort of bible to some people who followed Linda Goodman from her Sun Signs book in the beginning. This is a book of facts and not fiction like some people might assume since one of her chapters is titled "Ghosts, Gurus and Goblins". This is not for the weak minded, and not for close minded or narrow minded people either. You definitely must have an open mind to get far enough into this book to see she bases everything on scientifically proven factors, even when it comes to things that sound far-fetched. She proves scientifically facts involving numerology and anagrams and combining these as well as explains what each person is as a number and how their particular number has a rhythm which vibrates to the universe causing similar responses as other people who are the same number. Hard to explain but not as complicated to understand as it sounds, you just have to read it for yourself. As I said before you must have an open mind or it won't appeal to you. I love this book and use it constantly for reference and many people are amazed with her concepts and proven ideas. Recommend it for open minded people only. Not a religious kind of book, not witchcraft either. Spiritual and imaginative.

This is a great book for anyone looking to widen their esoteric knowledge. This book seems to get confused with "Sun Signs" a lot, but this is not a book about horoscope signs. It has chapters on using astrology for healing purposes, lexigramming, numerology, and much more. I learned so much about numerology from this book, and unlike most books on numerology, it goes into real depth about the meanings of each number, and how you can find out about yourself and others using your birth and name numbers. What I love most about it is how it teaches you to use the power of the mind to make anything you want happen. There's a lot of emphasis on the power of sound, imaging, and ordaining what you want, and Linda's pure and total belief in miracles is so contagious, it really makes you know that you have the power to do anything. It's an inspiring, enlightening book, and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in spirituality.

Mostly Fantastic and Absorbing

In the spring of 1989, when I was visiting my best friend in Nashville, she told me I had to read Star Signs, this great book she had discovered by Linda Goodman. On the way to the book store, we started discussing karmic/spiritual matters and I mentioned that I'd always felt like Job in the Bible, my life was full of problems and unhappinesses, and my best efforts seemed to go unrewarded. We got a copy of the book, got back in the car and I started reading my birth number out loud. The first few sentences stated that people born under my birth number had some of the heaviest karma and may feel like Job in the Bible. My friend and I started screaming and laughing. Truly amazing.
At the time, I was too young and inexperienced to fully grasp some of the things in this book, but I have recently started reading it again. The numerology is very accurate in the majority of cases, my roommate and I have checked out many friends birth numbers and laughed in recognition. The book also gives excellent details on how the Bible was altered and misinterpreted by ancient Emperors in collusion with the Catholic Church.
I've recently eliminated red meat from my diet and plan to follow Goodman's advice on becoming vegetarian, it seems very safe and sensible.
I also have an internet biz and followed her advice on pricing things as $5.99, for example, rather than $6. Still too soon to tell.
It's an entertaining read and I do think Goodman meant well. I do believe she went a bit off the deep end in her older age, I don't believe in immortality and who would want to live forever anyway?? It also seems pretty certain her daughter Sally is dead. As for color diets, I haven't tried them so who knows?
Nevertheless, it is a great, interesting read and much of the information is both accurate and informative. I have found that those who read Goodman's books with an open mind and sincere heart have very interesting experiences happen. I have also read Gooberz and while I didn't believe every word, I did suddenly meet several romantic interests, which Goodman said would happen while reading it. Coincidence?

And a real plan for extending longevity that actually works. Whether a beginner or experienced crone, this book will have something new for you to learn.

This isnt an in depth astrology book so if you're looking for that and the like dont get this book. It covers the basics of astrology and goes more in depth with spirituality/numerology and etc. using astrology, but if you're looking for a book that explains planets, aspects, etc. dont get this. It had none of that. Instead it guides the reader through many topics of manifestation and how to make the most out of life from astrology, healing, numerology and colors and our higher self, etc. Very easy to read

I'm giving it 4 stars because while I love the book itself and think its 5 stars she pushes a lot of narratives some people would not like. For example personally I didnt like "an apple a day" as much as the next person because she pushed a narrative of "humans can survive off of fruits only" and that "humans made animals carnivores" and "lions, tigers, wolves can live without meat." But she uses evidence to some of these claims such as a man who only "breathes for 90 days and doesn't eat" and can "levitate." Very jarring and hard to believe but this book requires an open mind and blind faith. Otherwise it's a great book and u SHOULD GET IT!!! Very illuminating. Has a lot of information and "occult" knowledge.
