This is the third book of The Daughters of Alastair MacDougall series. Lane McFarland brings the battles, castles, dungeons, scenery and love to life in every sentence of this book. If you love a heroine who's strong headed, a hero brave enough to tame the stubborn red headed lass, and everything possible in between then Lindsey is a must read. While you're at it pick up Cameron and Heather too. You won't be disappointed.
I so like the way Lane McFarland creates such distinctive voices for her characters. By now, the people who move through the various books are familiar and loved (or not ). They feel like friends.
This latest entry in the series is an exciting tale of Lindsey, the daughter who’s an expert with horses. Fiercely independent, she secretly carries messages to the rebellion while she struggles to gain acceptance of her abilities as a horse breeder and trainer. She’s female, after all—how can a woman do a traditional man’s job? Only her clan and Logan, the man she’s loved since they were young, accept her as she is.
Logan loves the spirited and appealing Lindsey, although he wishes she’d give up the dangerous job of slipping secrets around the enemy English. Nothing would make him happier than to claim her as his own. But as a bastard, he has nothing to offer this daughter of the laird. And as a warrior, he never knows when the rebellion will claim him.
From an exciting opening rescue to the surprising revelation at the end, Lindsey and Logan’s journey is fraught with challenges and danger. Ms. McFarland has crafted another story that’s not to be missed.
Please Ms. McFarland. Say there are more sisters to come! I hate to leave this wonderful world you’ve created.
