While searching for answers involving Stockton Estate's stone well, Ben Shadows and LJ Wayde discover one truth: the curse is real.
Unfortunately, that truth has LJ facing the same fate that's been tied to her bloodline for generations. The curse has given her the ability to help others conquer their greatest weaknesses, but it comes with a torturous price. As the rush of helping people starts to outweigh the pain of the consequences, LJ moves toward acceptance. She considers it a gift, a chance to make up for the way she treated people in the past.
Ben pushes on to find an end to the curse despite LJ's reluctance. He fears the real consequences are far worse than LJ's current symptoms, possibly linked to her Aunt Janine's memory loss. His love drives his need to protect her, even if it means hiding the next piece of the well's mystery.
When LJ finds what Ben has kept secret, she may never forgive him.
Will he lose her heart before he can save her mind?
**Recommended mature YA for mild language and mild sexual content.**

Will he lose her heart before he can save her mind?
Holy hell! This book is more intense than the first one as the race to find out how to end the curse is at full speed. Through heartbreak and love, finally things fall into place after much pain.
I really love this book so much. This series, really. I wish we could get a novella of what happens after that epilogue! Would love to see a glimpse of THAT wedding.
Full of heartache, pain, loss, curses, family, memories and romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.
I remember liking the first one more. They kept going on about how much they love each other but they don’t really give a solid reason why except for their mutual phyisical attraction. And that got a bit repetitive. Although, it has been a loooong time since I read the first one so I could just be remembering it wrong.
One thing I did not like was how stubborn LJ was when she found out this ‘secret’ Ben had. I didn’t feel the secret was that large to elicit such of a response from her. I felt she overreacted and I found her to be kinda whiny this time around.
Ben was sweet to LJ and attentive to her needs, especially when things started to go downhill for her. I can’t really go into that more without spoilers so I’ll have to just leave it at that. But his willingness to sacrifice for her was incredibly endearing.
Great ending if a bit of info dumping. I did like how there was no tangible bad guy but a past that literally haunts them. It was a bit of a trip to not see a big bad vanquished. The end was neat and tidy. I’d read more from this author.
I will add more detail after the book has been out awhile. I don't want to spoil it for anyone.
I read both The Line That Binds and The Line That Breaks in less than 48 hours. They are gripping and just fun. Author J.M. Miller adds a breath of fresh air to the supernatural YA genre without turning to ubiquitous vampires, witches, wizards, and other paranormal favorites. Her writing deftly combines poetic elements with crisp, realistic prose, creating an assuming foundation for a story of modern-day teens plagued by a historical curse that threatens to take away everything that means anything to them. Though the ending was slightly predictable, a little rushed, and resolved too easily, the investment I had built in the characters overshadowed all that - except maybe the rushed aspect. I wanted more! To any readers who enjoy paranormal romance, historical fiction, or mystery, The Line That Binds and The Line That Breaks are treats you don't want to miss.

Here's me thinking that nothing could of been better than the first, BUT HOLY S**T WAS I WRONG!
This was another great read, suspense filled, nail biting, love infested mystery, that grips the reader from the very beginning and doesn't let go....a bit like the curse that's rooted itself nicely within LJ.
Unfortunately LJ & Ben's search continues for the cure to this hideous curse. It's starting to show its ugly face now and poor LJ is paying the price?
How much more than this poor girl be put through?
What was Dahlia thinking when she cursed the Stockton bloodline?
Ohhh my lord and the lovely dashing Ben Shadows....He always knows what LJ needs and is always there for her. I love how he is always careful and considerate with her, but he is not overbearing....SWOON!
The story is packed full of emotion. You have both Ben and LJ trying to protect the other from the curse
At times I were peeved off with the pair of them....don't they get it.....they need one another to get over this, they need one another to find a cure.....they just basically need one another!
Will they find out the secrets they have been searching for?
Or will LJ end up losing in this battle?
I was both happy and sad when their amazing story came to an end., but I fear not, for I'm sure Miller has some fan-fricking-tastic novels in the pipework and I will be readily waiting for them!
