I've considered myself a proficient LinkedIn user, with over 1500+ connections, who is glued to LinkedIn daily. And, found Patrick's book very useful. It's one thing to use LinkedIn as a tool to connect with others, and another to enhance your personal brand.
It was in the latter that Patrick is helping me grow: how to align your personal brand with your professional identity. Personally, it resonated with me even more, because I'm in the business of helping people enhance their personal brand offline.
He starts off by laying out the 10 secrets to unlocking the profile. Depending on how you committed you are to learning LinkedIn, you can apply one secret at a time, either daily or weekly.
In chapter 6, he talks about searching like a recruiter or headhunter. It was especially insightful because using his approach has yielded more accurate search results.
The book is easy to follow, because the writer provides examples, chapter summaries and a lot of illustrations. Furthermore, there are action steps following each chapter, to hold busy folks like us accountable.
