This is a nice thick chunky yarn. I purchased the black color and it's a deep true black. The yarn is soft, and the 6 ply yarn is really lofty. I "killed" my project with a steamer after I finished it and it is great soft floppy hat now.
The only downside to the yarn is that it can become unplied if you need to frog or are working with an end. Weaving in the ends was a little bit difficult because I was no longer working with one strand of yarn but 6 separate strings that decided to separate. It was only a problem at the very end and didn't detract from the yarn or project. I would definitely purchase this brand again.

Well, I wrote a whole review then uploaded the photos and the review was gone. So this will be a shorter review, I have knitted with both, the skein in the picture as well as the one with the darker colors. It appears perhaps to be a reverse roll, as the brighter colors are inside and not on the outside. The brick and orange colors are slightly muted in the reverse roll but the same tone - 2nds? I attached pictures of the piece I am working on - both sides - I started with the roll I got from Michael or AC Moores and the second from Amazon, what is left is set next to the section where it was worked in - it is pretty much the length of the roll. You can judge for yourself if it will work for you. I got one roll like the one from the store the 2nd a reverse run, I still have 2 more as pictured so my scarf will fine, I have no problem with it as it is a multi-color garment anyway but hopefully the pictures will help you judge for yourself.
