Valiant Heart is the third and final book in the Egypt series by Linda Chaikan.
This is a Historical based, Christian fiction set during WW1 before the US became involved. This story is full of action and suspense surrounding archaeological digs, mysterious murders, British, German and Turkish spies and some clean romance thrown in for balance. The characters are numerous and varied in appeal and secrecy. I highly recommend this series.
While there are some editing mistakes, they are minor and do nothing to conflict with the story.
Nurse Allison Wescot has been serving on the Arabian Front since nearly the start of WWI. She has not seen Bret Holden for a year--since the completion of their work in Aleppo, though he had promised to find her again. Taking his year of silence as a closed door between them, Allison enlisted as a nurse and left for service in the Arabian Desert.
When Bret suddenly reappears (as ridiculously overbearing as ever! I love it!), Allison finds herself once more immersed in espionage, and it seems that their work in Aleppo wasn't as completed as they thought.
Again, this is by far the best Christian WWI series I've read--it seems like there are about 55432 WWII series and approximately... 3 WWI series. I almost wish Linda Chaikin would just write another, because I know she won't let me down!
The third book in the series, "Valiant Hearts" is a very good completion of the series, even if I didn't love it quite as much as I did the first two! I highly recommend the entire series.
