I put in much research before purchasing the Lipault 4 Wheeled Carry On, vacillating between the two wheeled and four wheeled versions. The bag initially appealed due to its lighter weight of 6 pounds, the newer version is even lighter at a listed 4.9 pounds. Very glad I settled on the four wheeled as I had a serious shoulder inquiry (from carrying the Lipault 15 inch Weekender bag on my shoulder) and this bag with its effortless gliding wheels took the pressure off the injury.
The carry-on measures 21.5" x 14" x 8", and the required size for an international carry on for many international airlines is 22" x 14" X 9". The beauty of the Lipault bag is that the measurements *include* the wheels so it was easy to fit it into the "check your carry-on size" tester at the airport and place in the overhead bin, not to mention very easy to wheel sideways and in front of me down the aisles in the aircraft, bringing many envious glances. Keep in mind the size and weight requirements for many of the international airlines. If you are traveling light and only taking a carry-on the weight is often limited to 15 lbs/7 kg thus it is difficult but not impossible to pack for a winter trip for 2 weeks in this bag- I would suggest if at all possible you wear or carry your heaviest items, e.g. boots and jacket, take 7 days of clothing and be prepared to do a load of laundry. Having traveled carry-on only in summer it would be easy to pack for 2 weeks not have to do laundry except for underwear.
The exterior pocket is a little difficult to get into, however this is not a bad thing considering this makes the pocket more secure.
Note to those also considering the Lipault 15" Weekender bag to sit on top of this carry-on: The 15" bag will fit nicely on the top of the 22" carry-on, however be certain to pack enough volume at the top of the bag to support its weight as the carry-on is soft sided. Also, when arriving at my destination via air and catching a train I had to quickly pick up the carry-on to run down several flights of stairs, this was impossible with the Weekender bag on the top. The Weekender had to be removed, slung over my shoulder, the telescoping handle put down, and the bag lifted by the handle. When in a hurry to catch a train this is *not* a quick move!
The purple is a beautiful color, and I garnered many compliments from the flight attendants/pilots when entering the plane. It might have had something to do with my color co-coordinated outfit. Would I purchase again? Yes.

I was skeptical that I could pack for a two-week trip to Italy and Greece using only this carry on, but I was pleasantly proved wrong. I joked with my friends that this was the clown car of carry on bags- I was blown away by how much I could actually fit in this piece. It helped that I traveled to warmer weather, so it was easier to pack lighter summer clothes. Mind you, I did do laundry halfway through the trip, mainly to give my jeans a good washing; if I had skipped this, though, I could have gotten away with only having to launder undergarments in the sink. But here is the list of items I was able to pack: 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of shorts, 3 maxi dresses, 4 t-shirts, 4 tank tops, a bikini, 2 long-sleeved shirts, 1 cardigan, pajama pants, 6 pairs of underwear, 4 bras, 2 scarves, 1 pair of wedges, 1 pair of flats, 1 pair of flip-flops. I was also able to fit most toiletries (liquids in quart-size bag fit in the front sleeve of the luggage), two small bottles of vitamins, battery chargers, an A/C converter, a curliing iron, and my iPad. The bag held up well, it is very light weight, and I love how easily it glided on its 4 wheels. The only sadness for me was somehow I managed to get scratches into the fabric on the front of the bag; the brown sheen is very pretty, so I was disappointed to see the blemishes on the bag's first run. All in all, it is an excellent piece of luggage, and I plan to add more from this line of Lipault bags to my collection for future travel.

Okay, let me start off by saying I absolutely hate checking bags. Seems like they either get ruined or lost about 50% of the time I fly. I travel overseas a few times a year and the size limitations on international carry-on have become a real issue. So after looking at lots of bags I decided on the Lipault Paris Carry On. This bag is perfect for me to carry on any commercial airplane. It is lightweight yet very sturdy, well balanced and has great wheels. It's so light that even fully packed I can easily lift it into the overheads. The soft sides make it very flexible for packing. The small size of the bag is misleading, I can pack enough clothing for 2-3 weeks in Europe and still be under the carryon weight allowance. I just got back from a 10 day trip to Iceland on WOW airline (the most restrictive about carry-on luggage) and this is the only bag I took. I was able to pack everything I needed for December in Iceland, including a few heavy sweaters and my laptop, in this one carry-on bag. I'll never check a bag again.
Thank you Lipault!

This is my second carry on by Lipault. It is very light weight and easy to move about. It fits easily in the plane's overhead bins. My first carry on had 2 wheels and this one has four, which appear to be very sturdy. I can pack an amazing amount of clothes in this carry on. I traveled for 18 days in Europe and on a transAtlantic cruise with only this carry on and had plenty to wear, including for 2 formal nights. The suitcase will stretch and give some so you can add to it as you travel. It is also rain resistant. I have had to deal with wet clothes in the past when I used other luggage brands. I am a 68 year old woman and it is important that my luggage is light weight enough for me to manage on my own. This luggage fits my needs perfectly for traveling with only one suitcase. It will be doing a 4 country tour with me later this summer. I absolutely love this Lipault carry on.

This is a great carryon, easy to maneuver with 4 swivel wheels and a good long handle.I can pack a lot into it with semi frame and soft sides, then flatten it when empty, good for cruises. We have 4 Lipaults, 2 for 4 years and 2 purchased this year, and so far zippers and handles have lasted, and the outside covering is very durable. The only down side is the plastic button protectors on the hinge side (used when bag is carried by handle then set down) pulling off, after less than a year's use. We don't really need them, may have to contact Lipault if they pull off and leave little gaps or holes - so far the fabric underneath appears intact.
