I have read many diet books being overweight most of my life. To be honest I had never heard of this Lipolysis - a high carb, high fat, high calorie diet which triggers our bodies natural ability to use excess fat as an energy source, resulting in reduced weight and body fat percentage, naturally. The book is laid out well, flowing from definition to destroying existing myths marked with strong research references and charts. He presents his arguments against exercise, different existing diets, fasting , why many so called "healthy" foods are disastrous to your health, and concludes with a step by step diet plan including some delicious menus. Mr. Eaton has certainly done his research and is very knowledgeable in this arena since I have read several of his books. He almost has me convinced to jump on board. This book is definitely worth the read.
This book is a fascinating read, and I could not put it down. I have been experimenting with a lot of different diets and exercise routines with pretty minimal results over the last 5 years. I started doing a lot of research on Lipolysis (the bodies ability to use excess fat as an energy source, reducing weight and body fat percentage, naturally.). I have started using the techniques (it is a simple 7 component methodology) and am beginning to see results, more energy, more clear thinking, elevated mood. The only reason I have not given it 5 stars is I want to see how effective the fat weight loss is over 60 days (only been doing it a week) and then update the rating ( either 5 stars or less than 4 stars). Irregardless a great "how to guide" with lots of recent medical citations for support for understanding how to start burning your own excess body fat for energy and the Lipolysis process - Robert from Dallas, TX
Sounds sorta like the new "pegan" diet to me. Pegan = Paleo Vegan, except some dairy is allowed, provided it's non-pasteurized, organic and preferably raw. It demonizes animal protein. It's a high carb, high fat vegetarian/vegan diet.
Recent research is indeed showing that low carb and low fat diets are not the way to go. The lipo diet book is entirely in line with this new research. The unusual thing about this book is that it shows how to allow the body to lose stored fat in a completely natural and healthy manner. Fighting the body by stressing it with unhealthy exercise and dietary restrictions never seems to work, at least not for me. Most diet plans don't work. The lipo diet does the opposite because instead of fighting and stressing the body, it allows the body to lose weight. When you do this you lose weight almost without trying. A fantastic book, and my thanks to the author for giving me a new lease of life.
As I get older I've put on weight and I needed to read a weight loss book. This book gave me more than that. It is filled with the science of nutrition, filled with practical advice and stretched my ideas of healthy eating. I would recommend it.
