This was such a cute story about fate and how it can change your life for the better.
Whitney is a very relatable character because she is working hard towards her dreams, and even though there are struggles, she keeps going forward. You cheer for her throughout this book!
When it seems that her life is stuck in neutral, fate steps in. And fate has a name...Ed.
I absolutely loved the way that they met...and met again;)
Tracy Krimmer can write some of the best meet-cutes!
"Maybe you need to step up your game."
"That's the thing about me, Whitney. I don't play games."
I adored everything within these pages! This story showed many family dynamics, and proved that no two families are the same. It also shows how strong friendships are and who has your back through it all.
Get ready to sit down in a comfy chair with a nice cup of coffee (or hot chocolate, like myself), and enjoy this great story!!
I'm excited for everyone to meet Whitney and Ed!
"Yes, I'm young, but why can't I have a fairy tale, too? Is it so wrong to dream about my happily ever after?"
I enjoyed witnessing Whitney’s journey on the path to finding herself. Mix in a brutally honest roommate and a fun-loving glam best friend, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for an entertaining story. Things aren’t always how they first seem and it’s important to remember that life doesn’t have to be a picture perfect fairytale in order for it to be perfect for you. Filled with lipsticks, lattes, and a whole lotta laughs, this novel will have you laughing out loud and licking your lips with desire for a delicious dose of caffeine, love and more novels by Tracy Krimmer!
5/5 for another laugh-out-loud romantic comedy, poured to perfection
This is the third novel by Tracy Krimmer that I've read this year, and for a good reason...she is a funny, genuine, and talented writer. Her stories are an all-around fun time and I find myself unable to put them down. Her characters are relatable, even if we're complete opposites. I feel like I don't even need to see a cover or synopsis. If Tracy Krimmer's name is attached to the title, I'm all over it!
Lipstick & Lattes is a sweet story about love and passion (the career kind, but some of the romantic kind too). Whitney was instantly lovable and I felt awful for her whenever her parents berated her life choices. The romantic aspect of the story came into place early on, but there were a lot of factors that also kept it moving along at a strong and steady pace. I liked the supporting characters and the roles they played in Whitney's life. The pop culture references (especially to classic chick flicks) always made me grin.
My only complaint was that it was too short. As a result, some parts felt rushed and time moved forward way too quickly. While I was warned that it would be shorter than her others, I didn't want it to end as soon as it did. Maybe Whitney will show up in future novels? I'd love to read a story about her best friend Hannah sometime.
Overall, another truly enjoyable novel that you can breeze through in a couple of days. If you need a pick-me-up, look no further!
From the casting couch...
Whitney: Rachel Bloom (Maybe because I love her on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, but I could see her being really cute in this role.)
Hannah: Tori Anderson
Ed: Charlie Cox or Robert Schwartzman (Both seem to pull off how I picture him.)
Josie: Juno Temple
Ricky: Michael May
Leann: Margo Harshman
