I used to be an avid Royal Purple user, but after trying this as a recommendation from a friend I won't be going back to the Purple. As an American living in Germany with a fast car and the Autobahns, it has been difficult finding a great motor oil to use on my 2007 Audi RS4 that can withstand the high demands of a motor notorious for burning oil.
Traditional brands such as Castrol or Mobile 1 would burn off a quart about every 1 to 1.5 weeks, switching to Royal Purple was able to extend that to about every 2 to 2.5 weeks. I thought that was about as good as I was going to get, that is until I switched to Liqui Moly. I used the Liqui Moly Pro-Line Engine Flush to make sure I got as much of the previous oil out as possible, new Mahl filter and the 5-40 full synthetic Liqui Moly Motor Oil.
Drove around town for a couple of days with out any spirited driving, just to make sure everything was properly lubricated. Made the drive from the South East city of Amberg to the city of Trier on the German/Luxembourg border, I took every opportunity to could to floor it and drive excess of 270kph. I made sure to check the oil every time I stopped, pleasantly my oil was still full and in great condition.
The next day I went for 4 laps on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I made sure to assess the tires, brakes and fluids before and after each lap, to my delight the oil was still clear and full. Even after the drive back to Amberg and back to the regular commuting, it has been nearly a month and i've only been about a half quart low.
The switch was made at approximately 121,000 miles, I've since done about 2.5k miles on the car and have only needed to add 1 quart.
