We looked at getting a similar set from Snap-On, Mac, or Matco, and settled on Lisle, which is a proven brand and proven quality. Reliably fits what it is supposed to, and built strong to last. Price is far and away much better than the tool truck items, and recently found out that on one of the trucks, the set is pretty much identical in all respects - leading us to suspect that this not to be named tool truck brand is actually just re-branded Lisle tool. We expect this tool to last well beyond any expected deprecable lifetime, so why pay extra for lifetime warranty? Highly recommended tool set for any shop that needs inverted torx sockets handy.

These are quality tools that are made in USA. I have the internal Torx set that I am super happy with so I wanted to get this set as a companion. I have a few singles that I previously purchased that have held up well without stripping the fasteners or rounding out the bits. My set did have two sockets that had some slag pieces left over from the grinding process inside of the 3/8" drive end but they were easy to remove with a small screwdriver. I didn't knock down the rating since they were super easy to remove and did not leave any trace that they were ever there. I do find it odd they made it through any kind of quality control process since they were blatantly obvious & would not have been usable in the condition they arrived since the slag pieces were large enough that they would not have allowed an extension to be fully inserted into the drive end to where the ball check could hold it in place. These were not defects in the sockets themselves but an oversight in their cleanup process. The sockets are hardened and finished similar to impact style tools so they are not chromed. They arrived with a light coating of oil for corrosion control so expect this when you open the package. This is normal for tools such as these and not to be considered a defect. The vinyl holder seems durable and firmly grips the sockets to keep them in place. It would be great if Lisle could add a phospate coating or something similar that would act as a corrosion control so you wouldn't have to keep them oiled for rust prevention. I did notice that mine started to develop a slight rust film between uses but it was super easy to remove with WD-40. Just wish I didn't have to do that so often!Read more ›

These Torx sockets are well made and were shipped very quickly. I don't use these specialty sockets very often, but since I had a need I figured I'd buy them as they were pretty cheap. Name brand for almost the same price as foreign junk.

The fit and operation is just as one would hope. The problem was when I was looking at the side trying to find a particular size. They stamp that in and it was SO FAINT that I had to get a bright light and a magnifying glass to read it!. I have another set of Torx drivers made by Lisle (the regular INTERNAL type) and they do NOT have this problem. They are also black and have the size stamped on very legibly. I imagine that this isn't going to be big problem since most of the time you just find the socket that fits an ETorx bolt rather than looking for a specific size.

I bought this set because it had the widest range of sizes. I run into ETorx very rarely, but like to be prepared. I was taking the front seat out of my Saturn and found that it had ETorx! bolts holding it in.

I like the holder. Just like the one on the other set, it seems to be very tough and will last a long time.

These are hard to find locally for most of us and if you do the steel is so soft they strip out on very tight torx bolts. This is not the case for this set. Very hard steel and work like there suppose to. I still replace every single type of torx bolts I come across with standard bolt heads, but getting the dang things out is where the problem is and this set will get them out for ya. Quality and hard enough to get the job done.

The sockets work fine, quality looks very, delivery was very prompt (I had just requested standard shipping). The only thing that I should have maybe read the spec's closer was that the socket depth. If you have a bolt with this type of nut and the bolt comes more than quarter inch above the nut the socket is not going to set all the way down. I was expecting the torx sockets to fit over bolts more like my regular sears sockets.

Very solid socket set. Although a little pricier than, I bought this set because it was: made in the US, came with a vinyl socket holder, and had the E20 socket, which the cheaper sets did not include. All in all, very satisfied with purchase. So far, have only used it a few times to to remove and reinstall torx screws in cars, but works fine.
