While the price surely beats the $20 that is charged to get a BMW 7mm rear brake caliper socket, the 3/8" square connector was not machined very well. In one configuration, the socket fit TOO tightly and was very difficult to remove from the wrench by hand. Turning the socket 90 degrees from this "TOO tight" configuration, the socket was too loose, but still functional.

Overall, this is a functional 7mm socket and I used it for my brake pad replacements, but I will not be adding this socket to my permanent collection.

BTW, "USA" is stamped on the socket, so I can't blame the Chinese on this one...or can I?

Very nice. I live in a remote town that is 1 or 2 hours from a [affordable] repair shop. So I have learned to replace my brake pads myself (easy). I have replaced the brake pads on my '91 Toyota pickup, and also flushed and refilled the lines. Now I had to replace the break pads on my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, because the right rear brake was marring into my rotor, so after buying the replacement brake pads, I went to do the usual job with my 210 piece socket set, only to find that my hex key/Allen wrench kit did not have a fitting piece?! So I had to order one. I ordered it on Friday with one-day shipping but of course I had to wait until Monday to get it in the mail. So after riding my bike to work for a few days, I finally got the Lisle 7mm hex bit socket head kit, and it fit perfectly on my 1/2" ratchet, as well as the 7mm hex bolts to remove the brake calipers on my jeep. This fits perfectly to replace the brake pads on a jeep.

well made tool. looks cheaply packaged but using it now for multiple brake jobs always worked well... Would not spend ridiculous amounts of cash for HAZET or SNAP-ON tools when I get cheaper quality tools like this...

It works. However, I could not get the socket all the way inserted into the wrench because there were chunks of burrs behind the hex bit within the socket that got in the way. It inserted most of the way, and was functional.

I bought this 7mm shorty hex bit to make changing the brakes on my 2006 BMW M Roadster easier. With my regular length bit and ratchet I would hit the strut body and have to turn the bolt back in enough to get the bit out, and turn the bolt by hand. I change my brakes several times a year, switching between track and street pads, so it was a priority to make this task easier. This bit combined with a Harbor Freight 1/4" and 3/8" Drive Ratchet Wrench allows the caliper bolt to completely disengage the caliper. A good buy to make the task much easier.

The front caliper of a 2001 Mazda 626 is secured at the bottom by a slider threaded on one end and with a 7 mm Allen screw head. My Allen wrench set didn't have a 7 mm wrench and even if it did more leverage can be obtained with a socket wrench than with an Allen wrench. This piece can also be used with a torque wrench to insure correct torque.

The description is accurate here. It fits onto a 3/8" socket wrench, and the hex head itself is 7mm.

Even after slightly stripping the bolts with a 6mm, I was able to use this to remove the brake calipers off my 2007 Mazda 3i.

Couldn't be happier with this purchase.
