The first issue of a weekly magazine should arrive within 4-6 weeks of your order. The first issue of a monthly magazine should arrive within 12-16 weeks, unless otherwise noted.

Once you've placed an order at Amazon.com, it can take one to two weeks for your subscription to be received and scheduled by the publisher. Your subscription is then added to the publisher's next production cycle and shipped via standard mail. For example, if your monthly subscription was ordered and received by the publisher in November, and the December issue has already shipped, your order may be added to the January mailing. 3.0 out of 5 stars Just another magazine May 30, 2012
    Subscription Term Name:1 year
This magazine started out life in 2011 or thereabout as Listen -- Life With Classical Music and was the newest magazines covering classical music in USA/North America. However, they found life with classical music in USA is a road to nowhere financially and now the magazine is called Listen: Life With Music and Culture. The "new" Listen bears almost no relationship to the old one.

As a classical music enthusiast, I liked this magazine when it came out. It was a bit superficial in its coverage of classical music and flat out bland in its reviews (they were positive puff pieces rather than reviews.) But at least it covered the dying art form and took a chance that American culture would come back to it. Apparently it didn't.

Now the magazine covers all kinds of stuff and about the only classical music content is advertising and an occasional review of a recording. There's still a little classical content but it pales to what the magazine once was.

Because I have no interest in popular, jazz or modern American music, it is somewhat difficult for me to determine where this magazine is going these days. In the current issue (winter 2015), the cover story is about someone named Robert Glasper whom they dub "the populist." There are other stories about travel, Cuba, the popular novelist James Patterson, an applied science piece on "hyperinstruments," and coverage of Conrad Tao.

If you know these people and have interest, maybe this magazine is for you. I no longer have any interest and will allow my subscription to lapse when it comes due.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent magazine for classical music fans. February 9, 2012
    Subscription Term Name:1 year
I have been a subscriber for the last two years and I must say the magazine is first rate. The interviews are great. Top notch artists have been interviewed (Anne Sophie Mutter, Joshua Bell, Yo Yo Ma etc). The writing is quite good and the magazine is laid out very well. The font size, print quality and reviews are very good.

I like ArkivMusic's 'Listen' all the more because it is published here in America and gives me information on upcoming shows in the US. I agree with another reviewer and wish that this was published more frequently than just four times a year. An excellent value for any classical music fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this magazine! October 27, 2011
    Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
If you love classical music, you will love this magazine and it is actually for US customers. I have subscribed before to many European classical music magazines which are good, except all events mentioned usually do not pertain to US customers. Good articles and music reviews! I wish it were published more than 4 times a year!
