About the Author
Kerri Lake’s connection with the animal kingdom is a doorway to perspectives that guide humanity to communication without judgment, relationships without dominance, and equality with all of life. As a divine essence and unique aspect of creator consciousness, Kerri Lake assists people to embody all that they are, embrace all that is, and claim their birthright of health, fruition, enjoyment and freedom in creation. Her unique voice and ability to articulate, guide and share sensory communication and awareness create a space where people can find not only common ground, but a common sense where all are fully expressed while compromising nothing. The gift she offers is the fullest expression of her divinity without judgment. That space, the absence of judgment, is the magic, catalytic healing space that animals are for us. Her presence demonstrates that we can be that for each other, as humans. And what a beautiful world this is.

So much of our communication and interaction with others is based on projection, stemming from a desire to dominate that comes from fear, conditioning, and self image. Or what is properly understood as judgment, as in the scriptural admonition to "judge not, lest ye be judged." Often misunderstood, that wise counsel points to the vicious cycle that we find ourselves trapped in leading to continual strife, disappointment and heartbreak in our relationships with one another.
Kerri Lake shows us how to break that cycle, by learning to "Listen Like a Horse." Animals don't judge, therefore removing the reciprocal element. That leads us to have to supply the all energy to keep the cycle going, or to start to see it for what it is and let go of it.
It led me to see myself as having been "rode hard and put up wet" as well as being the one to do that to others.
I recommend the audio version as Ms. Lake reads it herself. While many writers are poor narrators, Kerri is a master communicator, and listening to her adds another layer of depth to what is already a beautiful gift.
Kerri Lake has beautifully illustrated a paradigm shift in how to be with horses (and humans) through the story of her time with a horse named Cooper. She shows how humanity's quickness to judge—unique to our species—no longer serves us or the other species with whom we share the planet.
If you are already "into" the more communicative types of horsemanship that are now blossoming forth from all over the place, this will take you to the next level. I confess to not agreeing with every little thing Kerri believes, but if this isn't one of the best expressions of new-age horsemanship at the moment, I'd like to hear what is..........
