Listen, Love, Repeat is utterly refreshing. It’s a call to step out of our self-obsessed culture and notice the people around us, to really pay attention and look for ways to love and honor each other. What a timely reminder that while we can’t do everything for the people we encounter in the day-to-day, we can do something---and every little something matters. Thank you, Karen, for a book that’s practical, encouraging, and grounded in Truth. We will all be better for reading it. (―Sophie Hudson, popular blogger Boo Mama, author of Giddy Up, Eunice and Home Is Where My People Are)
Karen Ehman’s blog was one of the first I ever read, and she’s never stopped being a mentor to me. Her words here speak my heart language---and echo the heart of God. Live these words. Repeat. Have a profoundly beautiful life right where you are. (―Ann Voskamp, New York Times bestselling author of One Thousand Gifts and The Broken Way)
With all the criticism and combativeness we witness online and in person, Listen, Love, Repeat is a breath of fresh air. . . . In Listen, Love, Repeat Karen Ehman again strikes gold, showing us how to value others above ourselves and to do so with genuine compassion. (―Liz Curtis Higgs, bestselling author of The Girl’s Still Got It)
In Listen, Love Repeat Karen reminds us the purpose of doing good isn’t about being known as a pretty good person but about pointing people to the breathtaking goodness of God. You won’t feel like you’re being asked to add one more thing to your already full plate. Instead, you’ll discover how small sacrifices can have a significant impact on the lives of others. And how you can do it all for the glory of the One who made the greatest sacrifice of all. (―Jeannie Cunnion, author of Parenting the Wholehearted Child)
Listen, Love, Repeat was an answer to prayer! Human connection is seemingly more accessible than ever, but still our hearts often feel miles away from the human being living even right next door. In Listen, Love, Repeat Karen Ehman digs into how meaningful connection begins by tuning our ears toward the hearts of those around us. When we do, life becomes richer and love becomes deeper. This is a practical and encouraging manual to forming and deepening relationships all around you. (―Logan Wolfram, speaker, author of Curious Faith: Rediscovering Hope in the God of Possibility)

Listen, Love, Repeat is more than a book. It is an inspired call to action for Christians to do what Jesus calls us to do: love people. By the end of the first chapter, I was already looking for ways to scatter kindness. This book is more than a recitation of why our good deeds matter. It is a practical guidebook on how to be like Jesus in a world that desperately needs more kindness. (―Jennifer Dukes Lee, author of The Happiness Dare)
Packed with heartfelt truths and practical ideas, Karen Ehman hits the nail on the head with her newest book, Listen, Love, Repeat! Both challenging and inspiring, it is a message we desperately need in our world today: to love others. A must read! (―Ruth Schwenk, coauthor of For Better or For Kids, founder of TheBetterMom.com)
The woman who wrote this book is the same woman who threw my bridal shower, loves me in ways I don’t deserve, believes in me in ways I don’t believe in myself, and who gives gifts better than anyone I know. Listen, Love, Repeat isn’t merely a catchy title, it’s the way Karen Ehman lives. She hasn’t stopped this cycle ever since I’ve met her. Now, it’s your turn to start. (―Lindsey Feldpausch, blogger at The Glorious Table and Karen Ehman’s real-life friend)
Karen Ehman is God’s real deal---her heartfelt words a gift. When I began to tear up by page fifteen, I knew my heart was in for a total transformation! Listen, Love, Repeat quite possibly could be the key to getting unstuck from feeling hopelessly dry, scarily empty, and completely unfulfilled. Thank you, Karen, for being the friend we need to encourage us to tune our ears---in the midst of our culture’s narcissism---to hear God’s heart and scatter his loved to the world. (–Sheila Mangum, author of the popular prayer blog The Power of the Three Stranded Prayer and Karen Ehman’s real-life friend)
Listen, Love, Repeat is written by the woman I like to call my “other mother.” I spend lots of time at her house. She is never too busy to listen to my struggles, feed me good food, and let me borrow her phone charger. Best of all, she’s always pushing me to do my best and to strengthen my walk with the Lord. This book will help you to love like Jesus did and to never let others around you go unnoticed---even if that person is a teenage boy with a big appetite and dead cell phone who just needs someone to listen and care. (―Anthen Ruhf, nineteen-year-old “sorta son” of Karen Ehman)

The timing of this book can only be explained as a God thing. In a time when many people in our country and around the world are feeling lost, lonely, marginalized and abandoned, this book is a fantastic reminder and call to action for every follower of Christ to seek these people out and show them the love of God in a tangible way.
Karen uses personal and relatable stories as well as solid scriptural lessons to drive home the fact we are called to love others and serve others first.
I especially loved her concept of listening to heart drops; that is being intentionally listening to others when they are speaking to you for hints of how you can serve them? Are they going through a hard time? Hurting? Mention a memory that you could perhaps find that item and gift them? Listen, love them through encouragement and tangible pick me ups and do it again: listen to them, love them and do it again.
I highly recommend this book as I was encouraged and inspired to step out of my comfort zone and bless others more.
I'm gifting members of my Sistering in Christ's ministry team members the book.
If ever there was a time for the message behind Listen, Love, Repeat it is now.
"Why are we here? To love. What are we supposed to do? Again: Love. God, others and even self".
In Listen, Love, Repeat, we learn how to listen for heart drops, show love to our necessary people and repeat the process every day to the person right in front of us, no matter how "unloveable" that person may be. While reading this book it came to my attention that those prickly personalities we try to avoid are the ones who need our love the most. If we are honest, I mean completely honest, we have all been prickly at one time or another and all it took was a small sprinkle of kindness tossed in our direction to turn that frown upside down.
When we are selfless toward others and sprinkle kindness wherever we go, we allow others to see Jesus through us, no matter how small the act may be. "Because Jesus wasn't about doing big things. He was about doing the right thing." Jesus didn't discriminate with his love, he didn't pick and choose the people he showed love to. He was selfless toward every person he came in contact with. Karen Ehman focuses on this throughout her book. Loving others so that they may see Him through us.
I give Listen, Love, Repeat 5 out of 5 stars because through my time reading her book, I can see that these aren't just words on a page from Karen Ehman. This is a message of love and encouraging others through that same love, whether it's easy or hard. Loving someone is always rewarding. Seeing them change because of God's love shining through you is priceless.
