From the Back Cover

Seduction is quickly becoming the hottest new restaurant in Portland, and Addison Wade is proud to claim one fifth of the credit. She’s determined to make it a success and can’t think of a better way to bring in new customers than live music. But when former rock star Jake Keller swaggers through the doors to apply for the weekend gig, she knows she’s in trouble. Addie instantly recognizes him—his posters were plastered all over her bedroom walls in high school. He’s all bad boy . . . exactly her type and exactly what she doesn’t need.

Jake Keller walked away from the limelight five years ago and yearns to return to what’s always driven him: the music. If he gets to work for a smart-mouthed, funny-as-hell bombshell, all the better. But talking Addie into giving him the job is far easier than persuading her that he wants more than a romp in her bed. Just when she begins to drop her walls, Jake’s past finally catches up with him.

Will Addie be torn apart once again or will Jake be able to convince her to drown out her doubts and listen to her heart?

I have read all of Proby's books and this one just did not pack the same punch that I have come to know and love from this author. The five new female characters that we are introduced to in this book are all fantastic and I can't wait to read their stories (especially Cali). Jake and Addison have good chemistry and I really like the set-up and premise of this book, however, I felt like too much of this book was just kind of their day to day lives and there was not enough "story" involved to keep me really enthralled like Proby's other books normally have. I felt like there needed to be more issues to overcome or drama or something because I just kept waiting and waiting for something to happen and then...nothing really. Even the main conflict that occurs and gets between Jake and Addison for a while seemed pretty weak and uninspired. I AM very interested in the next book in the series though and am holding out hope that it will be more reminiscent of the writing that I have come to know and love from Proby.

All I have to say is Kristen Proby have done it again. I have been a fan of her writing for three years and every time I have read one of her books I end the book with great satisfaction. She knows exactly the right things to say on paper in order to keep her readers interested and keep us wanting more. I really, really enjoyed "Listen to Me," to me it was a story about redemption and forgiveness. Jake, who is the main, needed to redeem himself from something that happen years ago, he needed to learn how to forgive himself for something that he didn't have any control over because if he didn't he wouldn't be able to move on with his life. A life which would include Addison, oh how I loved her. She was spunky, independent, and knew exactly what she wanted out of life. The only thing only aspect of her life she had an issue with was her love life, in her past relationships she have been deceived so much that she had a problem with trusting any man; especially a musician like Jake. I enjoyed watching these two characters come together as one and try to build a relationship that was everlasting, it was very beautiful to watch them try to get over the obstacles in their lives and become one. Then we have a sex scenes, of course they're hot, Kristen Proby has wrote some of the hottest sex scenes that I have read. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, I have a feeling I'm going to shed a tear or five.

Kristen Proby begins a new series with this novel. Five friends have opened a popular, trendy new restaurant called Seduction. Each one is responsible for a different aspect of the restaurant. Addison and her friends decide to add live entertainment on the weekends. Addie hires Jake Keller. Jake used to be the lead singer/guitarist in a hot band but after a tragic event several years before that happened to his best friend for which he feels responsible (although it wasn't his fault), the band breaks up and he goes into writing/producing with one of the former band members. He misses live performances, but doesn't want to go back to the huge live concerts and drug/alcohol/meaningless sexual encounters of before. Hence, his desire to play at Seduction. Due to past relationships with musicians that have ended badly, Addie tries to maintain a professional-only relationship with Jake, but he wears her down. There is a sub-plot about the musician/loser ex-boyfriend of Addie's who tries to reenter her life and the unresolved issue with the past tragedy in Jake's life that ends their relationship. When Jake comes to his senses, he is finally able to win her back. I'd rate this book a 3.5. It's not a bad story, but not as good as many of her other books. I am looking forward to the next one, Cali's story, due to the background developed in this one and the excerpt.

Eep! This book was so sweet and perfect! First of all, the hero is a former rockstar with tattoos and a heart of gold. Are you kidding me? I fell in love instantly! And the heroine is an independent, sassy, smart, badass chick with tons of bad-boy baggage. I loved her too! Their banter was fantastic, and I found myself laughing a lot. This story is super sweet, but had some super sexy time that had me blushing too. Overall, a fantastic read that almost anyone would enjoy!

Kristen Proby is one of those authors that I can’t seem to get enough of. Her books always get to me. I connect with the characters so well. Either I want them as my friends or I see a piece of me in them. And the men…oh forget about it. They are all so swoonworthy and fantastic. I was pretty dang excited when she announced the Fusion series because I knew I was going to get another set of amazing characters. I wasn’t wrong. As soon as I started the book I knew I’d want to hang out with the group of ladies that founded the restaurant Seduction.

I really loved Addie and Jake. Addie is strong and determined. She has the career she’s always wanted, but she doesn’t have the relationship she’s always wanted. That’s the one place in her life where she seems to make errors in judgement. Jake’s backstory is an interesting and a bit sad. I love that he has decided to give up something he loved because he didn’t like who and what he had become. It was beautiful to watch these two come together and find what they needed in each other. These two have a ton of chemistry and are smoking hot between the sheets and everywhere else.

There are some laugh out loud moments in this book and some heartwarming ones as well. My heart broke a few times as well, but Kristen does a great job of taking me on an emotional roller coaster ride and then giving me a massive payout for vomiting my feelings all over my Kindle. I cannot wait to read Close to You which is Cami’s book. I have a feeling she and Landon will heat up my Kindle. Is it August 9th yet? What a great birthday present this book is going to be (my birthday is August 5th), I can’t wait to revisit Seduction and the amazing women that run it.
