Lithic analysis--the study of stone tools--is at the core of archaeology, but until now there has been no broad synthesis of the various methodologies it encompasses. Answering a critical need in the field, this book provides a comprehensive and critical integration of the various approaches to lithic analysis, combining current research from two well-known researchers with complementary strengths (Dibble studies Old World tools, while Shott's expertise is in New World lithics).
Harold L. Dibble, Department of Anthropology, University of Pennsylvania. Michael J. Shott, Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminology, University of Northern Iowa.
