Carmel has a way of pulling you in the rabbit hole. Her writing leaves you wanting more but more of what exactly? Because you get it all. The feels, the emotions, the struggles. She puts you right in the middle of the story. Everything is very detailed, but not too descriptive that you would be lost or bored or skimming. No, it's detailed enough to the point of escapism.
Ryder is an upcoming rockstar playing in a pub or bar. He's like an Cadbury chocolate. What you see its not what you get. I thought i wasnt going to fall for him but I did. He's an alpha sweetheart. A hopeless romantic which is something so new so rare now-a-days to read about.
James is well... A paradox or a brick wall. I liked her. She had spunk. She had attitude. She had problems. She was REAL. At times yes you want to slap her and save Ryder from her. But she was his muse.. His better half. They fit perfectly. Their chemistry, their banter, was on point. It was not force. Like I said, you're pulled in, right there with them feeling, sensing, seeing everything a part of Lithium Waves.
The cherry on top of the sundae was the band. These dudes rock!
I recieved an ARC for my honest review and I hounded the S*** outta the author...
Yes. I recommend LW and recommend rereading worthy!
Can't wait for the next book. CT, I love you!!!!!
I read the book from start to end in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down! I got sucked down the Rabbit Hole alongside James, and I'm glad! ;) Thank you, Carmel, for sharing this beautifully written story!!
I am so excited for Lithium Tides because well, CT!!!
This story of Jamie reformed "Party Girl" from an elitist family rich in wealth and societal expectations but poor in love and connection meets Ryder the artistic Rocker and "Sex God" extraordinaire from poor abusive beginnings but rich in heart and loyalty to his band mates and his waitress mom has all the elements that are required of a 5 star review. The plot is strong, compelling and unique that is unpredictable in a good way.
Carmel Rhodes is a master wordsmith that provides a dialogue that is emotional, sexy and real with a bit of smart ass in the mix, character development that has layers upon layers of depth and introspection and scene descriptions that are so detailed and vivid they awaken all senses of your imagination. This brilliant story has it all... Lust, Angst, Hate, Greed, Power, Humor, Passion, Sacrifice, Love, Joy and is HOT AF. Like I said, 5 Stars. I can't wait for the next installment of Lithium Springs.

Jamie and Ryder are delicious and steamy together. Jamie is a poor little rich girl who has figured out how to work for a real life and now she's battling emotional demons to reclaim herself as a whole person; but she's safe-guarding her heart. She's the victim of an emotionally abusive father who has been little better than a pimp, using her to forge relationships to further his business empire. Along comes a front man, sex God who understands his own heart so well he's ready to fight for her with his body, his talent, his future if need be. Ryder is a new sort of white knight - he's almost perfect in his imperfectness. Sexy, dirty mouth, abs and a poet's soul; the romance audience is done for. There's a lightness to Ryder that isn't common of the genre - and yet he's believable.
The are recognizable romance tropes here but Carmel weaves a story you can't put down. Like so many other great romance writers, Carmel has an ear for the absurdities in a wide array of relationships (familial, friendship, professional and romantic) conveyed through the dialogue showcasing the shared histories of different characters. I love when authors have the skill to make you feel like you've just stepped into a world that pre-existed your arrival and is already moving in multiple directions you have to catch up to. Ms. Rhodes knows how to tell a really good story, really really well.
Congratulations Ms. RHODES, I'm hooked! Now on to Book 2!
Their chemistry off the charts hot, it’s smart, sexy and you won’t be able to put it down.
Enter the Lithium world, I promise you won’t regret it.
