This is a short chapter book, with each of the six chapters containing about two pages of text and one full page of illustration. With both childlike and adult elements, the story flows nicely (e.g. childlike: he packs a bag of survival stuff but forgets food; adultlike: his neighbors are proud of him for being open-minded).
After the story itself, there are six bonus pages: an additional illustration; a list of the illustrations with a short description for each; a page which is mostly blank with the heading "Draw a nice picture about the story below;" a page briefly and simply describing primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, with the names of the colors printed in colored ink; a page of six "exercises" (about half questions, half complete-the-sentence, like "The Little Blue Man is ____"); and a page on which you could write notes.
