Owen Bishop had been injured as a child and lost his leg so he used a prosthesis. His brother, Daniel, who had been with him, felt guilty; but Owen was optimistic. He decided it was his fate to be injured to see how re overcame it, and he did. He didn’t let it stop him from doing anything he wanted. One thing he couldn’t do was make Darcy Meyers his love. There was a family feud in the way; but they had no idea what it was about. He had given her up in school; but couldn’t give her up now.
Darcy Meyers had been in love with Owen since grade school. He hadn’t responded to her then; but surely now that she was of age, another try couldn’t hurt. It worked and she was totally in love with him and wasn’t letting go. However, her grandfather, who was raising after her parents’ deaths, objected to her seeing Owen and threatened Owen. Would it work? Would Owen stop seeing her?
which began when they were in 7th grade. I liked both of their characters from the beginning ~ sweet, caring and good values. There was little indication that this was a Christian novel until the end, but it was a clean novel and a page turner. I would recommend it.

when her father sends thugs to beat him up as a warning to break up with her, he never tells her, and then her parents die, so there is absolutely no pay-off with that story-thread... why even introduce it? I think it was intended to show how wonderful and unselfish it is, but ultimately all it did was make me feel bad for him and annoyed that she never knows the truth.
