Patrick is a psychic medium and tarot reader. Kristi could use a bit of guidance. She has many questions and it's time for her to find answers. Her journey isn't straightforward though and there will be bumps in the road. Will Kristi get everything she wished for or will she end up with an even bigger mess? Is Patrick really the one who can make her discover what kind of future she needs?
A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate is an amazing story about love, life, work and friendship. I immediately loved Kristi. She has a heart of gold and she wants to help as many people as she can. I loved her positivity, confidence, ability to be practical and honesty. She has a lovely warm personality. Tom is moody, withdrawn and temperamental. He's incredibly talented when it comes to creating art, but he's vulnerable as well. He's adorable and has a boyish quality, but that also means he can't manage his own life very well. He needs someone to take care of him. I couldn't wait to find out if that woman would be Kristi. Is it possible for Kristi to have an intimate friendship with a man?
A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate is a feel-good book filled with practical wisdom. I love the way Linn B. Halton sees the world and I admire her perceptiveness. She writes about being at a crossroads and I liked how she describes the step-by-step discoveries and realizations of her main characters. Personal growth is an important part of life and I found it refreshing to read about. Patrick's gift is not just that he can communicate with spirits and give tarot readings, he also has a calm and comforting presence that puts people at ease. Patrick is kind and caring. He's a generous and honorable person. I loved his ability and the way he deals with it. He's an interesting character with a lot of fascinating character traits.
Linn B. Halton writes about her characters in a detailed way and she makes it easy to see into their souls, which is really special. I love it when women are capable and competent and Kristi is so good at taking care of things that large numbers of people depend on her and her books. She has to take a break before she can go on with her life. Taking a break to objectively look at your life is a great thing to do and a fabulous topic for a novel. I love Linn B. Halton's fast-paced and matter-of-fact writing style, this gives the story a dignified tone, which was exactly right for this type of story. The heartwarming romantic ending makes the reading experience wonderfully complete. I highly recommend Linn B. Halton's novels, I think her books are all fantastic.
A voice in her head seems to be directing her actions but she doesn’t understand it. Seeking Patrick’s help is out of character. He’s a psychic medium but she is out of her depth. Their interactions lead to more questions than answers and force them both to look at their lives more deeply.
Told in a light-hearted way, this story deals with strong emotions and tragic events. Kristi tries to follow her own life mantra’s but putting her theories into practice is not as easy as she thought and the psychic interference only makes it more difficult for her to choose the path to take.
Kristi is a likeable character full of human flaws but with a heart full of goodness. Tom, a permanent fixture in her life, is her friend/lover but is he the man of her dreams or an emotional crutch? Patrick soon becomes her mentor but he wants more.
There is a love triangle of sorts in this story which adds a little spice, in what is a journey of discovery for the main characters; Kristi, Patrick and Tom.The psychic element is intrinsic to the plot and adds an interesting dimension to this engaging romantic tale.
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
Kristi finds herself at a crossroads. She is no longer happy and satisfied with the life she is living. She makes the decision to take a sabbatical for four months, so she can write a new book. A book that will be totally different and completely honest. Kristi is the one who normally helps people out, but this time she needs guidance herself. She reaches out to Patrick, a well known tarot card reader and psychic medium. It turns out that Kristi has more help than she realized. Patrick becomes a very important part of her life and he tries to steer her in the right direction.
Kristi is a very loyal friend and a hard worker. She has put her own life on hold to be the successful lifestyle coach she wanted to become. Now the time has come to be who she needs to be. This takes a lot of courage and I think that Kristi is very brave. I liked to read about how sweet and kind she is towards others. She helps people out with advice or in other ways whenever she can. Even though she is very wealthy she doesn't look down on people. Kristi is all about creating chances for people and helping them to get further in life. I was hoping for her to achieve the same. I loved the chemistry between Kristi and Patrick. He's such a patient and kind man. I felt he was perfect to help Kristi through her struggles.
On Linn's website you'll read: written from the heart, for the heart. That's exactly how her stories feel. Linn B. Halton knows what she is writing about and connects with her characters. A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate is a beautiful story about how you sometimes need to re-evaluate your life. All of the characters felt like real people to me. It was like reading a diary instead of a story. Linn B. Halton's stories flow naturally and you'll find yourself lost in her heartwarming world. I have been a big fan of Linn B. Halton's books ever since the first time I read one of her novels. I highly recommend any of her books.
- "When something major goes wrong in your life and other people can see that failure for what it is, that hurts. But doing nothing is the biggest failure of all. So face up to it and be prepared to say, loud and proud, 'I've failed, but do you know what, I'm still standing and the lessons I've learnt have made me even stronger'."-
