As for the cardigan and sweater patterns themselves, they offer a wide range of challenge levels from the easier patterns play with like Cria (a garter yoke cardigan) and Melia (a thick and cozy cape) to the more challenging Chickadee cardi with a colorful birdy design wrapped around the collar. They are all lovely classic patterns to last you through multiple seasons with enough charm to want you to knit at least more than one from this book. All in all the photographs of each design are lovely on both the smaller and curvier models.
I will comment though that the book's advice to pattern tweaking and custom fitting only works for how "honest" you are with your figure and knitting skill. If you're a 40 bust then don't try and knit to a 36 for some of these patterns and most definitely test your gauge in case you need to adjust up or down a size to match your fit. This book is an excellent reference tool but only if you're very honest with your knitting style and measurements. Likewise, don't be afraid to play and work say only part of the same pattern in one size and the next part in another if you clearly have the chest and hips of a different size set. You'll be much happier with the results with this in mind.
Excellent book on fitting knitwear to your own shape.
A bonus: you can get an e-file of the book and all it's parts once you buy the book. That allows you to have digitized copies of the size-worksheets as well as all the info easily at your fingertips.
I love how each garment is photographed on both a 'regular' sized model and a plus-sized model so regardless of your size you have a good understanding of how it's going to fit.
I'm yet to knit anything from the book but most things are going into my queue.
