I loved this book I loved the characters and I loved how the author worded a very delicate situation with the main character. The book moved me to tears and made me rejoice. It gave me hope that someone somewhere was still fighting the good fight and winning. It was a story you could loose yourself in and become concerned with the lives of the characters.

Although the book did mention God and faith in Him it never came across as "preachy" or "churchy". You saw the struggle and humanity then, how the family's faith helped them.

I love this book!

This is the story of Cleo who, after escaping horrible abuse, marries a wonderful man and is living the good life with him and their children. She begins to have flashbacks of her former life and it all rushes back threatening to upset her happy home.

As usual Ms. Thompson takes her readers through an emotional roller coaster ride with one exciting twist after another turn. I had to unclench my fists and my jaw several times. Very real characters plus a believable plot equals a story you shouldn't miss.

Ms. Adrienne Thompson is such a gifted writer and she always leaves me wanting more. Her style of writing has a way of making her stories come to life so vividly in my mind. The novel Little Sister had my attention from the moment I started reading; I did not want to put it down. It is an emotional story of abuse, heartache, and loss for the main character Cleo but she overcomes it all with the power of love and the willingness to allow herself be free. Little Sister does not disappoint!

Little Sister was even better than Been So Long........in this story we meet Cleo, Mona Lisa's long lost sister. She has a loving Husband and three beautiful kids...but life for Cleo has been no crystal stair. She has endured even worse abuse than what she ran away from but she has survived. The call she received from Mona made her past start revealing itself back to her.....and she is left to fight for her sanity. When a guy gets hired at her place of employment that reminds her of the man she narrowly escaped from that abused her for 4 years of her life she is determined to put him behind bars once and for all. Adrienne threw a couple of twists in the story I DID NOT see coming and once again wrote a stellar book. I can't wait to read Been So Long II.

An excellent companion to the Been So Long series. The book tells the story of the sister who ran away from an emotionally abusive home at age 12 only to be caught in a more abusive circumstance with man who befriends her, provides the loving home she has never experienced and then takes advantage of her innocence and neediness. We meet her again as a adult, happily married with two children until a call from the sister she left behind brings long-repressed memories to the surface. The story is well written and immediately engaging. For me it also answers the question in the first book of the Been So Long series. but don't worry the books stand well alone. You WILL however, want to read the other books including Rapture and Been So Long 2.

Adrienne Thompson doesn't write happy books, but her characters are survivors and you definitely feel like you are on their journey with them, whatever that journey may be. And at the end of the journey, you're inspired and feel that with faith and trust in God, you can make it through to the other side (at least, that's how I always feel!). As usual, this story was gripping and definitely took me through a range of emotions. I'm glad this story was pretty short, because I honestly felt like I was holding my breath the entire time, worried about what was gonna happen next.

I won't rehash what the book was about to make sure that I don't give anyway, but I will say that this is a really good story, with complex characters in extremely difficult situations, written by a great author. Check it out!

I finished this book in one day because it was so captivating. How Cleo managed to keep her sanity throughout her ordeal is anybody's guess. When the power of love consumes you, you find the strength to overcome your adversities in a mighty way. Cleo fought to free herself from her painful past, fueled by the awesome love for her husband and children. This is reality, and many women who read this book will break down crying because this is their life story. I have several books by this author and am thrilled to add this to my collection as well. Excellent work!

I was as consumed with reading about these characters as the writer was with writing them. For a short while Cleo, was able to take over my thoughts and I was able to get lost in Adrienne's world of very real fiction. Even though the story has come to an end I will find myself thinking about these very life like characters. I love the way this author is able to draw her audience near and wrap them up in her stories. It's almost like a warm blanket of disturbing fiction. Even if you find yourself being able to unravel a few of the details before they happen (Most likely you are familiar with abuse) you don't mind because the story is so well written. I loved this story but if I ever hear someone say "Little Sister" it would be to soon. I feel ya CLEO!
