Product Description

Amazon.com

Little Tikes has taken the best parts of riding toys, stuffed animals, and pillows and combined them in one toy--The Pillow Racer. The racer features a soft pillow lady bug that your toddler can sit on and ride with an easy-grip handle for stable 360-degree turns on the four caster wheels. The plush pillow is washable and can easily be removed from the racer body for snuggling at naptime.

Detachable, Washable, and Cuddly Pillow

Be Safe and Stable with the Easy-Grip Handle

The easy-grip steering handle attaches to the base to provide extra stability for little riders. They can hold on while they are being pushed or push themselves along with their feet.

Make 360-Degree Turns on Four Caster Wheels

The Pillow Racer rolls on four caster wheels that firmly attach to the base of the racer and allow for 360-degree turns and spins. The Pillow Racer is not to be used on or near steps, hills, roadways, or inclines.

Assembly and Design

Adults can assemble the Pillow Racer in about five to ten minutes without any tools. Our testers found the plastic body and steering wheel strong and stable. The caster wheels are similar to the ones commonly found on an office chair. The character is made of soft polyester fiber.

The Pillow Racer won the 2012 Good Housekeeping Best Toys and 2012 Parent's Choice Approved awards.

The most frustrating thing for my daughter when it comes to ride-on toys is being stuck going only one of two directions. She would back herself into a corner with no where to go! The new Little Tikes Pillow Racer has 360 movement, allowing her to scoot sideways, easily turn and spin. It also makes it easier when she's pushing it around - less likely to get stuck.

The Pillow Racer is unique with the directional freedom it offers. It is also the only rider we have that didn't require any tools for assembly! I easily put it together while my daughter begged to go outside, and was done before the hissy fit could start! The hardest part was stretching the fabric over the no-tip stabilizing bar - there just wasn't a lot of give.

The other unique feature is the soft cushy creature that makes the seat can be removed for use as a cuddly pillow. I personally do not want to reassemble it constantly, so she is unaware it can do this for now. I was nervous that she would fall off the back due to the curve of the ladybug', but she holds on! She does have trouble hopping on this one by herself (she's only 17 months old) because the ladybug is wider than her horsey. She likes pushing it around though!

We received the Lady Bug Pillow Racer in order to facilitate a review.

Bought this for my 1.5 year old for Christmas. Probably 2 of his first 5 attempts to use it resulted in him falling off the back end and hitting his head on the floor. We then stopped using it. May pull it out again in the future once he learns that he has to hold on to the handles and not let go if he wants to protect himself. Infants do not have the experience to initially understand this concept. Additionally, they are often multitasking and carrying other objects in their hands. Doing so while attempting to also ride this is not wise... or safe. Buy them a ride with a high seat-back instead.

I have now purchased 3 of these pillow racers. Each child that has received one has absolutely loved theirs! Two of them went to my grandbabies that have had so much fun racing and chasing each other. Also they had a small amount of assembly that had to be done, but it was easy and fast to do. I will buy more!

I just purchased this lady bug pillow racer for my niece on her 2nd birthday. I like to think it was the best gift she got, because right out of the box she loved it! She could hardly even wait for her dad to attach the front handle before hopping on and riding it around the house. I am really happy with this purchase and would absolutely get it again as a gift for the other children in my life. Can't wait till my little one is old enough to have one!

I bought this for my granddaughter (27 months) with the idea that it could be passed on to her little brother when she outgrows it. The Ladybug is very cute, easy to assemble, and rolls on the floor better than other riding toys I've seen. I'm not sure how many times the base will be removed so the toy can be used as a pillow, but it is nice to have that option.

The baby loved it. Had this for a while before this review. She played and played on this thing. They're so cool when they're little. This ride on got its fair share of abuse and is still in good shape. If I have the need for one again, I'd purchase this again. The one I have now is still in such good shape that passing it down would be the only reason I wouldn't have to buy another one.

The evil, mean eyes scared the pants off my little, yr old cousin, but she got on anyway (can't see those eyes when you're riding!), and her gramma pushed her all over the house. She now loves to ride and soon will be able to push herself along on it. The eyes need a rework to make them FRIENDLY and HAPPY or at least FUNNY or GOOFY. Who are these evil designers who make these scary things?

Addendum 28 Aug 14: my cousin is now 17 months and still enjoys riding her ugly bug, but her gramma must still push her on it for safety, else she could fall off. She says it's tough on her back bending over so far to push it. I now wish I'd gotten a rider with a back and a push bar. This toy, with it's slick castors, is much more appropriate for kids 3 and older, who have developed the strength and coordination to safely handle it.

Also, I'd like to let folks know that this toy was only $29 delivered (not Prime) just 7 months ago and is now at the incredibly inflated price of $75 Prime. Most other rider toys have rocketed similarly in price in that short time. Are we in the midst of a pillow shortage, or could there be a run on castor wheels that we've not heard about? Ridiculous.

We like this item, and my daughter sort of likes it...she's very mobile so anything that moves with her on it is a plus. But the standard casters that come with this, while they work, make it an interesting adventure for a short legged little girl to get on. Caution should be used when used on a tile or hard surface as the cart will tend to scoot out from under your child...leaving a hard floor to thud on... Fortunately this didn't happen as we noticed this little shortcoming right off the bat...
