It would be nice if there was a reverse button as well. Normally he will hit something and get stuck, and he either gets off the bike and moves it or we move it for him while he is still on it. That being said, the bike is really light weigh. It is easy to carry around. I can see myself packing it up in my car and taking it to the grandparents house, no problem.
The box says it is quiet, but it is louder than I thought it would be. Charging it up is pretty simple. Just unlock the seat and lift off the seat to get to the charge area. You have to snap the plug off the battery and plug it in to the cord that attaches to the outlet. At the beginning, it wants you to charge it for 16 hours. When it charges, it isn't connected up to the battery so it won't move at all when charging, you have to unplug it from the wall plug and plug it back into the battery for it to work again.
It is the perfect size for my son, there are feet rest that he can put his feet on when he is driving. But a lot of the times he likes to bring his foot forward up against the tire. If he wasn't wearing shoes, that rubbing when driving could hurt him. So, it would be nice if there was more of a guard between the foot rest and the wheel. But overall this is a fun toy for my son. I love watching his facial expressions when he drives this power cycle.
Little Tikes did send me a repair part. As it turns out, there was a screw that was supposed to firmly attach the handlebars. Either my original package didn't include that screw or I missed seeing it. Probably the latter. With that in place, the car seems good to go.
I am leaving my original complaint below out of fairness to Little Tikes. When companies screw up, we blast 'em. Customers should fess up when they make mistakes.
I bought one of these at Costco for a Christmas gift. The little guy is just now able to ride this thing and after 30 minutes of use the steering broke. The handle bars connect via a plastic part that just doesn't seem strong enough to handle the torque.
I called their tech support and they were quite friendly, helpful and located in the US. I've sent them photographs of the problem and expect to hear back from them soon. But the design seems flawed.
Another reviewer complained of the wide turning radius. I think this was an intentional safety feature-- no sharp turns, not tumbles.
I would say the only thing I like about this bike is the color and the look of it.
We charged it before giving it to him and after about 5 times using in, it is still going.
It's very light weight- that is nice for me to carry it in and out of garage.
Really happy with it and would recommend it!
