EXACTLY what we were looking for!
Something light weight, thin, easy to use and portable. YES PORTABLE because it's so thin and light that you can pack it in any backpack or laptop bag. Again PORTABLE because you can use any old Micro USB to plug it into a wall adapter, a power bank or computer/laptop.

This seller does/did offer the set with the usb adapter as well as the battery operated pad if you're interested in those.

The cord that came with my set up is approx 6 feet long. That's more than enough for me since I'm planing on staying in one place while I use it. If by SOME chance you were planning on walking around while using this, then a six foot cord might not enough for you o.O We've had many usb type gadgets in the house and a lot of them had shorter cords. If you really need a longer cord, check the dollar store. I've picked up a couple that were 10 ft from there.

This particular set doesn't come with a usb to wall adapter so you'll need to provide one if you plan on plugging it into an outlet. If you have a cell phone, you probably already have several of these plugged in to various sockets in the house. Again, the dollar store has them if you don't have a spare.

The pad has a dimmer on it. The max is pretty bright. I have enough light to penetrate through THREE layers of "paper". One of those being carbon paper (shown in my video) which is a solid, dark purple. To adjust the brightness, tap and hold the on/off switch. Tap and hold to adjust the opposite. Tap to turn on or off the pad.

Since this pad is thin, you'll probably not want to drop it, place heavy items on it, or bend it in any way. If and when I need to travel with it, I'll make sure that I have something sturdy and won't bend to place with it.

There are some other light pads out there that look the same as this one. Same size and set up even, but a little cheaper. My husband purchased this one and while we both like it, I probably would have shopped around.

I was very sorry when I received the light box and realized it was much smaller than expected. The description at the top clearly states 17.7" and I never noticed than the small print states that it is 14.17" by 10.63". My son is very disappointed and I feel we were mislead. But after I chatted with an Amazon to she very kindly said that she would give me a non return refund and I am very happy about the service. The lot up box is very nice and Amazon's customer service was very good therefore I will give it 4 stars. Not 5 stars because I hope they will change the measurements on the top of the ad.

This is a nice size lightbox with good features, but after five or six uses it will not hold a charge. If I wanted one I had to keep plugged in, I could have paid a lot less. It is very awkward. I contacted the company, and they won't even return my emails.

Not sure why they would call it portable when it needs to be plugged in to work. And there is no power adapter, only the world's shortest USB cord. So it is, in effect, the very opposite of portable. Also not very bright -- I need to turn out all the lights in the room pretty much only trace when it's dark as it doesn't work very well during the day. I typically use it for art and trace onto watercolor paper or heavy cardstock. You can't use it at all for Kraft paper or other non-white paper.
