Aubrey is a likable lead female. She's understanding, forgiving, and accepting. Too bad her friends don't share more of her qualities. Between Mike's ultimatums and her girlfriends turning against her without ever hearing her side of anything, who needs an enemy! The stalker was more consistent. I was really disappointed with everyone's behaviors in the book except for Gage, Brandon, Liv, and Carter. They proved their worth. Mckayla especially didn't deserve immediate forgiveness. High school jock over your cousin. NO! Her emotional depth is nonexistent.
Positives: The stalking added an element of suspense. Aubrey's dance storyline was very good. Conversations with Gage were excellent. Brandon and Carter were pretty perfect.
Negatives: Mike, Mckayla, Alexis, Talia. I figured out who the stalker was, but didn't guess the motive.
All in all, this was an entertaining read. I look forward to more of Aubrey and her true love.
When I first started Begin Again, I wasn't sure I was going to like it because I felt like I had missed a book somehow and came into the story in the very middle. It took me a little bit of time (not much) to realize this was intentional, and that the author chose to rather skillfully pepper the backstory in little by little. Once I realized that, I actually preferred it and, like I said, thought it was some pretty skillful storytelling to do it that way because the reader was able to discover things along the way as they came out.
I loved the characters! I felt immediately for Aubrey. She's been through something very traumatizing, and it was refreshing to me that it was something a little different from some of the storylines I've read in the past. She does indeed have several guys clammoring for her, and I like how she kept her options open and didn't commit to any particular person. She's trying to start her life over right now, and was smart not to jump into a relationship. So by the time she actually does pick the right one, I felt like I'd gotten to see that journey of falling for someone a lot more thoroughly. Which I loved! And let me tell you... she picked the right one.
I was actually really surprised by this choice. At first, he was the last one I would have thought of, but as things began to develop, I knew it couldn't be anyone else but him. I loved him, loved him, loved him. I loved his protective instincts, loved his sweet but sexy personality, and I thought he was the perfect match for her.
When the big reveal came around, I have to admit I was shocked. I really didn't expect the who and how that was revealed. This is unusual for me, as I'm typically able to predict pretty well, but this one took me completely by surprise. So kudos to the author on that one.
This series is just the two books, and I like how the author didn't try to drag it out beyond where it needed to go. So great characters, great storytelling and pacing, some wonderful shocks and surprises, and some good, emotional depth. I really loved this series.

Oh my gosh!!! EEEEEEE!!!!!! How to describe this?? Another Bethanie’s Fave has been found. Had the story ended here I would have been fully satisfied. This ended perfectly.
The storyline layout was incredible. I thought I had things figured out, but wow was I wrong. I was glad to be wrong though. It made the story that much more exciting to me. This is a MUST READ. It has entered Bethanie’s Fave list. I’ll have it on the list soon.
Yes, I just finished the first one yesterday, and no, I couldn’t wait and once again finished the second book, this time in half of a day. I was trying my best to wait, but it was near impossible because the first book just wouldn’t leave my mind. Live Again is the sequel to Begin Again and what a sequel it was. I will just tell other readers now that if you get the first book you might as well go ahead and get the second. You’ll want to read it immediately afterwards.
I have a worry, though. According to the blurb at the end of the second book there is a third book coming out. I just don’t know what could be added to this duet to make it better. I am not sure I will be able to read the third book because I was so happy at how the second turned out. If I get the chance, then I will probably wait on reading it. We’ll see.
It took me forever to finally get up the guts to finish reading the Divergent Series and The Mortal Instruments Series. I had the sixth book to Mortal Instruments for almost a year before I actually sat down to read it and the third book in the Divergent series took me months to pick up.
But I digress. Begin Again and Live Again are beautiful and such perfect companions that I hope the next one continues that perfect relationship. To Ms. Mulliner, THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing your work with me. I thoroughly enjoyed them both.
