Plant arrived carefully packaged but did include a few little bugs from Texas. Not a big deal, really, I was just surprised to see them.
I very carefully followed the included care directions and transplanted the bamboo from its shipping container into a large pot for my patio. I've watered it every day since arrival and only recently cut back to watering every other day.
It is doing well but it still just a baby. It isn't very black and is only about 2 feet tall.
It is healthy and hardy and I am happy :)
I've had this for about 6 months now. It's still alive, and has finally started to show new leaves and branch extensions. However, it has not sprouted any new stems from the ground. Probably won't until spring. I also bought a "yellow groove" bamboo plant with it. The yellow bamboo has grown much better and has a lot of new leaves, but still has the same issue of skinny spaghetti stems.
