I’ve been following Chris Sebela for years, including his time in the Clown Motel, but this was my first time really getting to read his experiences with it. The Motel itself may be creepy, but it turns out the people who populate it and the surrounding town have a much bigger story to tell. Chris only scrapes the top in his 30 days of living in the Clown Motel, but it’s still a great look all the same. Definitely recommend.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I’m staying at the clown motel with a friend for Halloween, so I figured this would be a good way to find out what I’m in for. Cool book and funny. The only reason I took a star off was because I was expecting it to be like an illustrated story, because well it’s a comic book. But instead it was predominantly text bubbles with a little bit of photographs. Definitely cool info though. I am glad I bought it. It’s a quick read I think it took me like 10 to 15 min.

Sebela is one of my favorite writers and this book is just a great example of why. You'll see the whole of Tonopah in your head as he writes it and wish you were the kind of soul Chris is, who can find beauty in the weird so easily. <3

Sebela has a style unlike any other, and a completely wild true story to pair with it. Curl up with this fascinating (digital) page-turner and be glad you're not spending the night in a gosh-dang clown motel.
