There's a reason why this food is rated so highly. My cats absolutely love this stuff. I noticed recently that one of my cats had lost a pound and that both of them were turning their nose up at the dry food I've been giving them for the past 3 years. The stuff I had been feeding them was a 16.6lb bag which is two and a half times more expensive then this stuff and it was quickly becoming money down the drain. I started doing extensive research to find something that was a good source of protein, highly rated and reasonably priced. I first tried another brand called Krave, but that went well for only two days. I then ordered this stuff and for the past week they have been eating this like it's going out of style. One of my cats is insanely picky so I'm relieved that she likes this so much.

I've tried a lot of cat food in my time, and I can honestly say that 9 lives is the best. The food is always fresh and delicious, and it's made with real meat and fish (I think). I love that there are so many different flavors to choose from, so I can always find something that I'm in the mood for. And the best part is, my human always gives me a big bowl of 9 lives food every day, so I'm never hungry. If you're looking for the best cat food on the market, I highly recommend 9 lives. It's the only food that I'll eat!

My cats like it well enough. I usually mix it with wet food and they it seem to enjoy it. The ingredients are pretty much what you would expect for a lower priced cat food. I try to choose food for my cats that is nutritious but I can't afford the fancy vet approved pet foods. My cats seem satisfied and look healthy. I will order this food again when we run out.

So my neighbor has a cat... Not my cat. Cat is an outdoor one. He loves annoying my dogs by sitting by my glass door. Once again, not my cat.

A freeze came one day and cat was outside, wheezing by front door. He was clearly freezing to death. I felt bad and let him come inside... He proceeded to stay in my bathroom for almost a full week until it warmed up. I had to feed him and got him some of this. Still not my cat.

Now my neighbors cat comes to see me every morning and evening for this food. Every.single.day. He meows as loud as he can until I put food in his food bowl....Yes, you read that right. I bought him a food bowl.

Still not my cat, so please stop going up on the price. 3.99 was perfect!

I had never purchased 9 lives dry cat food before. At the price that Amazon was selling it, it was worth a try. When I received the bag, my cat kept trying to open it himself. Once I opened the bag and poured some 9 lives cat food in his dish, he would not let me put the dish down before he started eating. He likes it. And I am glad he does. When Francis is happy, I am happy. What ever Francis wants, Francis gets!

I started to feed my cats grain free until my vet told me that grain free cat foods are linked to cancer. When you think about it, if a cat were eating a natural diet, they would be consuming a mouse for instance, which includes the stomach contents - so there's your plant material. So now that I'm not concerned with that piece anymore, I'm looking for something that the cats will actually eat, and they seem to love this. The pieces are relatively small which they seem to enjoy and my cat with digestive issues doesn't seem to be bothered by this food. I also feed a can of wet food each day.

We have been buying a dry food for cats with sensitive stomachs because our cat throws up a lot. He is not sick, He just throws up after he eats unless we are very careful about what we feed him. I was a little nervous when I bought this food because it is a change and could cause the flying half digested food toss that my cat seems to fancy. I wanted to give him some variety and the price for this Protein Plus food is so reasonable that I couldn't resist.

The ingredients are not great. The first one is corn and the third ingredient is soybean meal and then more corn. Definitely not a high quality food. I didn't realize that when I bought it because I was hung up on the fact that it has extra protein, something my cat could use. I don't know where it is coming from since meat seems to be an afterthought in this food. He seems to like it well enough though and he has only thrown up twice in a few weeks. It may not even be from this food. Anything he eats can cause it and he eats wet food and treats along with kibble.

My cat is almost 11 years old and I like that I am giving him additional protein as he ages but I don't like that the ingredients are mostly filler. I am going to go back to the Purina One we have been buying and toss in a handful or two of this food into his big bowl for variety and the protein. I definitely won't switch completely although my cat wouldn't mind. He eats it with no hesitations.
