Our package arrived with one long and two short rods to attach the globe to the fixture. The long rod barely reaches, the two short ones didn't. Called Livex Lighting, who told me to contact Amazon (while my contractor fiddles his thumbs.)
I wish Livex stood behind their products. Livex has offered to sell me more rods, but throwing more money and more time at the problem isn't my idea of a good customer experience.

The quote to sell me the three short pieces of threaded rod that Livex failed to include in the original purchase was $81.90, this on a purchase that was not much over $100 in the first place. Livex seems to hate their own customers. Caveat emptor.
First, the fixture is designed so that the globe is suspended on three rods with hooks on both ends, that engage rings on the fixture and the interior of the globe. The rods that shipped were so short that the it was just possible to hook up all three rods. With the globe installed on these short rods, it was impossible to fit bulbs in the fixture because the globe is too close to the sockets. The only way to make this fixture work was to attach a one inch key ring to each of the rings inside the globe and to hook those onto the rod hooks. Even then, it was tight fitting the bulbs in until I corrected the second problem.
Second, the assembly was generally good, but one significant detail was overlooked. Because both the suspension rods and the sockets suspend from the fixture, space is tight. It was tighter than necessary because the socket assembly was affixed lined up with the rod positions rather than offset. Given the design, this was a difficult situation to adjust because there is no room to get a standard wrench on the nuts that hold the socket assembly in place.
Finally, the fixture is held to the mounting plate with two ball nuts. One of the two I got had no usable thread. It was either never properly tapped or it was stripped. The design of these was questionable as well. They are essentially 5mm ball bearings with a (theoretically) threaded hole in them. Not the easiest thing in the world to secure onto the mounting bolts, up tight against the sloping surface of the fixture. I went with a pair of hex nuts to be safe.Read more ›
The electrician left the globe section of the light in the box with a note, unable to install. My husband and I decided to give it a try.
What you have to do is attach 2 of the arms with the bulbs in the fixture. Then you unscrew the brass parts from the globe on the third side. Install the top of the third arm first and line up bottom of arm with brass pieces that go through the globe. When everything is in place screw the brass pieces together. Having good directions would have saved time & money but it is a nice light.
Look really nice in our hallway and bedroom. Would recommend them to anyone looking for light fixtures.
The only thing missing is the buzz from the old light fixture!
