How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

... and it's seriously flawed. The last track on the second disc does not play completely. That song is "Hold On" by Wilson Phillips, a song that I also have on at least one other compilation. What bothers me is that I've purchased this set twice and on both copies, when the final song plays, the CD starts messing up. Both sets were bought used (the first one for only a dollar) and, while the discs were noticeably scuffed up, they played fine until Track 18 on Disc Two, which leads me to believe that it is probably a manufacturing defect. I got the second disc on my first set resurfaced to the point where there were no visible scuffs, but still Track 18 wouldn't play completely. This is very frustrating to me because I first bought this set brand new on 2 cassettes (which, thankfully, I still have). The fidelity on the tapes just isn't the same as on the CDs, so when I first found this set on CD, I was pleasantly surprised only to find the flaw on the second disc. I then bought it again here on Amazon just to have the same problem. This set also exists in a single disc version, so it's very annoying to me that nobody else on here has pointed out the flaw on Disc 2. Is it possible that all of the reviews on here are for that single disc version? Also, I can't currently find a seller to confirm for me whether or not they're selling the 2-CD version and I'm afraid to take another chance on buying this only to end up with a single disc (which I'll have to return). An Internet search was unsuccessful, so, unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be replacing my tapes anytime soon. Now, onto the music: It's mostly hip-hop with loud beats and many of the songs sound the same. I was born in 1969, and the music that I mainly enjoy is from The 60s and The 70s. This set goes a long way towards explaining why I hated the music of The 90s so much (even though I was in my 20s at the time, I just couldn't relate to most of the music here, and I still can't). When I first picked this set up on cassette, I did it because, at the time, I had so little music from The 90s in my collection. The songs that really stand out for me (and seem to have stood the "test of time") are the ballads which are scattered throughout the two discs. These include "Baby It's Tonight" by Jude Cole (particularly refreshing to hear after so much hip-hop), "One More Try" by Timmy T., "How Do You Talk To An Angel" by The Heights (also refreshing to hear), "To Be With You" by Mr. Big, "High Enough" by Damn Yankees, and, of course, the aforementioned "Hold On" which won't even play in its entirety on this set. After hearing so much 90s music non-stop on these two discs, it is especially galling when you get to the very last song on the second disc and, all of a sudden, the song starts skipping and the music stops. Talk about a buzz kill! Back to the music: This set also includes the rockers "Life Is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane (probably the most important song on the entire set for me; it's certainly the most popular one today having received almost endless airplay on "classic rock" radio stations. I'm not particularly interested in owning a Tom Cochrane CD, so it's nice to have his most famous track included here), "Right Here, Right Now" by Jesus Jones, and "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers.

I love this cd. It brings back so many of my childhood memories. There is one problem though, this cd is not the same one I have. I ordered mine off the tv and it was a two disc set with many more songs. Unforunatley, I had lost disc two, then i found it and now it's gone again and I cant remember what all was on it. It's still a very good cd that everyone should have in their collection.
