What a beautiful poignant movie. Some of the scenes will stay with me forever--so beautifully shot and executed. There exists a whimsical poetry to the story of love, loss and depression. One feels like they are peeking into a school girl's journal, as both participant and voyeur. This movie feels personal and captures an honest portrayal of what coping with the depths of sadness can feel like to someone so young. It's a mixed bag of romantic ideals, teenage angst, literary references, literary gods, coming-of-age adventure and tremendous loss.

Should have been sad enough to make me cry. Should have been able to shed a tear to rejoice in the happiness. Should have breathed a sign of relief in the knowledge. But no. My daughter and I rate a movie on how many tissues are needed. Whether for loss, joy, love or knowledge, if done right, one should be moved to tears. This was a dry eye movie.

1.0 out of 5 starsNoble effort, but terrible execution

The anti-suicide message of "Living with the Dead: A Love Story" is laudable, but the film itself is badly paced and dramatically inert. I really wanted to care about the main character, but she just became irritating after a while, as did her ostensible love interest.

Well done! For an indie film from a new filmmaker, the cinematography, actors, script - really top notch!

What a great film.
Being involved in film production, I am aware of the challenges in telling a story. This has it all. Great writing , great acting , great dialogue. You really cant go wrong with that combination. Great job , thank you!

Living with the Dead is an honest and entertaining tale of depression and loss. The movie deals with a lot of adult subjects, homelessness, depression, and suicide to name a few. But in the end, a real sense of hope shines through the heavy clouds. Every actor, from the leads to supporting felt if they were born to play their roles. Each actor brought a deep and respectful acknowledgment of the topics the director and writer to address. The film drips with love and understanding, Not pandering to its audience the film guides you along without overstaying its welcome. Buy it, Rent it, Enjoy it; you're in for an emotional ride.
