About the Author
Rebecca Atwood received her BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design before beginning her career designing and consulting for major retailers. Today, she is a textile designer and an artist who blends traditional techniques with hand painting. Her interest in pattern is deeply rooted in her childhood on Cape Cod and her everyday observations of life in Brooklyn, where she lives with her husband.

She also has numerous references to taping art work on the wall. While I can see taping your child's latest drawing on the wall, the use of tape was used several times and in a different context.
On the plus side, I did like several aspects of the book. Some of her tips, such as how to use throws were nice and she included some items used as throws that really were not designed for that purpose. In addition the rooms have a lived-in feeling with sofa cushions slightly worn, towels not perfectly folded, etc. - all giving the impression that people really did live in the house instead of trying to look like a perfect photo shoot.
As mentioned, the colors used in the book are mostly neutral and similar in styles from one to another.
