I remember well President Reagan saying "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall" but it is very interesting to hear how life was in and around the Soviet Union at that time. A perspective I didn't thank much about at that time, especially interesting coming from an American who is married to a Belarusian involved with the politics there.
Also enjoyed reading about places in Washington where the author grew up, since I am also from Washington State.
