First we buy too much, then we keep stuff that we really don’t want. Our homes are filled with too much clutter, our lives are overscheduled and overburdened. Stuff comes into our homes faster than we are able to get rid of it. Enough already!

Maybe it’s time to motivate yourself to get rid of the stuff you don’t want. This book takes you through the practical motivations and methods to get unwanted stuff out of your home, including specific instructions for each room in your home. 4.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says on the cover January 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have just placed a second large bag of clothes outside for a charity to collect. What inspired me to dump these unwanted items that I have kept in my wardrobe for more than a decade is Tina Razzell's wake-up call in `Living Simply'.

I am a hoarder who lives in clutter but after reading Tina's book I am making a serious attempt to reduce clutter.

"Clutter is anything you don't love and haven't used for over a year," says Tina. By decluttering you'll reduce stress and gain peace in your home." To be honest I am not stressed and home is quite peaceful, but I realise there is a problem. Tina says that sometimes "we find it easier to buy things than get rid of things," and that rings so true.

If, like me, you need to get motivated, then Tina's book is just the thing. She has a killer sentence comparing home with the enjoyment we get when staying in hotel rooms "because they are neat and tidy with just enough in the room to function," and not full of clutter. If you're already convinced Tina offers lots of suggestions and methods of how to get to grips with clutter.

There are chapters on de-cluttering children's and teenager's rooms, home offices and bookshelves.

Tina's definition of clutter goes beyond solid things, she tackles email and emotional baggage and how to enjoy life more.

There's lots of good advice here, not all of it I needed, not having young children and not being a `mom'.

I think the book would be better by considering an international mixed audience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Living Simply Review January 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I read "Living Simply" and felt like Tina Razzell wrote this book just for me! The tips she gives, if followed, would make my life so less complicated and cluttered. Some of the things she suggested were so simple to do, yet would save me a lot of space and keep me organized.

The one tip I really will put to use is to keep my desk for my business, NOT for storage. I had not even realized that I was using my desk to store things until I read this. It made me take a look at this and many other practices I had been doing. I have referred back to this book, Living Simply, many times to see what Tina recommends to keep me organized and less cluttered. I like the way she breaks each of the areas down as well.

The last few sections, "Mom, Look After Yourself" and "How To Enjoy Life More" have given me a lot to reflect on. Coming to read this Ebook on decluttering and organizing my house, reading these last chapters dedicated to help me make MY life simple were an added bonus.

I have read many Ebooks, but this one is one of a few that I have saved and refer back to quite a bit. I highly recommend it to anyone that would like to simplify and organize their life better.

Living Simply Improve Your Life With Less Clutter

It's that time of year when our thoughts turn to Spring Cleaning. But where to start? Kitchen? Closets? The garage? Oh my! The clutter is everywhere! Clutter around the house kicks my Attention Deficit Disorder into high gear. Now is the time to read the book Living Simply-Improve Your Life With Less Clutter by Tina Razzell.

Tina Razzell is the BellaOnline Living Simply editor. She became a devotee of the less cluttered home when she moved from England to the United States. Getting rid of half of her family's possessions taught her that the less she had, the better she felt. Fewer possessions freed her time. She was no longer a hostage to the things in her life. Tina cleaned house less and enjoyed life more.

This book goes beyond the mantra "throw it away, give it away, put it away;" although she does recommend these things. Tina Razzell delves into the reasons that our houses become cluttered in the first place. Chapter 5 is short and succinct. It tells six of the main physical reasons for clutter. Some we already know. There's that place where the mail gets dumped, until it's a teetering stack that looks like a demented sculpture. We have days where we are just too tired or distracted to deal with putting things away. But have you ever thought that you don't get rid of items because you convince yourself that they have `value?' That skirt that you paid $50 for on sale has been unworn in your closet for how many years? Fifty dollars is a lot of money, but the skirt does you no good hanging around attracting dirt. Put it into a consignment shop if it's a classic. Give it away or throw it away, if it's not!

Chapter 4 deals with the reasons that we have clutter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Advice on trimming down. June 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Many of the suggestions in this book make good sense, I wish that my parents had gone through the process of tidying up as described in this book with me. However I'm now following the suggestions laid out in this book so only time will tell.
