Dr. Hale and his wife are medical missionaries in Nepal and share some of their challenges and adventures. Dr. Hale writes with much wit and keeps you enthralled with a culture very unique to Americans. He shares with love and much humor. I couldn't put the book down and ordered other books he has written.

Second book of Hale's I have read. If there are others (besides "Far Side of Liglig Mtn." which I have already read) I would purchase them too. Wonderful book, very informative and interesting.

Dr. Thomas Hale has given us an opportunity to experience the trials, tribulations and triumphs, but more importantly, the inspiration that he and his wife have been so fortunate to have been a part of. His writing style is not only easy to read, but it compels you to want to read more. It is a wonderful diary of his medical mission experience over the years and is a treat for those who want to go to Nepal or anywhere else to do missions.

It was a gift for a friend who was going to Napol and it was a LOOOONNG plane ride so I thought it would be great for his reading pleasure for the flight. He said he enjoyed it and would pass it on to others who was going to Napol for the insight.

Thomas Hale's writing is beautiful and his adventures as a Christian medical missionary in Nepal are even more splendid. I just couldn't put this book down. After reading this book I have found the strength to continue plugging through my medical school requirements!
